My wellness visit was great from the check in to the actual exam and vaccinations. Dr Todd Smith is professional, caring and my dog was so at ease with him. We discussed all aspects of his exam. The vaccinations were easy. I would highly recommend Dr Smith and this practice.

Our little guy is really tricky when it comes to handling, so finding a vet has been difficult. The folks at AVH were wonderfully patient with him and helped him through a nasty bout of pancreatitis. We just moved to the area from Lafayette and were worried about finding a new vet closer to us -- so thankful we found AVH and we look forward to working with them for a long time!

The scheduling process was exceptionally easy. I received a text that my dog was due for a visit and clicked the link to schedule and there were appointments that same day. I also received an email reminder of the appointment after booking. The level of care we received was excellent, as per usual. The cost of each service was clearly explained to me before I decided whether or not to add it and I did not feel pressured to get additional services. My concerns were listened to and addressed, and the doctor explained everything to me very clearly. My dog is terrified of the vet but they handled her very gently and with care.

They have been so good to my rescues. When we lost my soul dog, they were compassionate and kind and knowledgeable.

I brought in my cat who was in respiratory distress and Dr. Dugger went above and beyond to help my cat, Zeppelin. She was honest, empathetic, kind and dedicated to finding an affordable cure. I am grateful to the whole staff for helping me during a difficult time. I will never go anywhere else with Zeppelin, only Arvada Veterinary Hospital!

Dr. Todd Smith has been a breath of fresh air after a few not-so-great issues at different vets while my dog was sick. He listens, responds without talking down, and puts you at ease. More importantly though, he reads the animals so well and can quickly tell how he needs to interact with them. My dog has not always been the best at his vet visits, but we finally found someone that knows exactly how to interact with him!!

I have an extremely anxious dog who hates being handled. Having had some really bad vet experiences in Colorado - I’m so grateful to have found a vet team who cares about the animals and really takes the time to make sure they are comfortable and getting the care they need. Would highly recommend for anyone with a dog that needs any sort of special attention at the vet (or even ones who don’t!).

Had a bit of an emergency with my Husky. Having been quite unwell for 3 days, and passing bloody diarrhea, we needed him seen quickly. It was a holiday weekend, so I needed someone other than my regular vet, as they were closed.
After a quick search, I was pointed to these guys. I made an appointment online (very easy system) and got my dog in the next morning.
Upon arrival, the staff upfront were excellent, welcoming, and accommodating. We were shown back to the room we would be in, and fairly quickly a nurse/assistant was in with us for preliminary assessment. She was excellent! shortly following the Vet was in the room with his diagnosis, and recommendations. X-Rays were needed, but before doing so, he outlined "worst-case-scenario" costs if the X-Rays showed any obstructions and needed to be escalated to a radiologist. Thankfully they didn't need to be, and he was back in with necessary medications, and suggestions for care at home.
Couldn't be happier with the service, professionalism, and care provided here. My dog is on the mend, and responding very well.
Would recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone!
