Let me tell you a little about Dr.Skarie…. He’s amazing, and the best vet I have ever been to! I’ve brought my pup Dakota to him a handful of times and it is so evident that being a Vet is his calling! He truly cares about the dogs he works with and is so kind in helping create a plan that’s beneficial for them! He is a vet that I trust will never make a decision just because it is financially better for the business (which is so hard to find nowadays) very grateful for him and his team! <3

I had 2 emergencies several weeks apart with my furry kid Vinnie. First was a tummy bug and recently a wellness exam needed after Vinnie took a spill. The office was so quick to respond to my phone call and email to get him seen right away.

Dr. Skarie is awesome and my English Bulldog Vinnie approves. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, thorough, and friendly. Dr. Skarie went above and beyond for my chonky fur kid.

We definitely found a good DOGtor we trust.

Dr. Skarie and his staff are the most compassionate vet team I will probably ever know in my entire life. We had a nightmare tragedy unfold today as our 11 year old Australian Shepherd Izzy suddenly had a mass in her spleen rupture from what was only found out today as hemangiosarcoma. What a terrible cancer. Completely unknown until she had it burst and from there we only had a couple hours with her.

We went in for what started as a routine checkup as our first new vet visit here. Got shots. Went home. Izzy suddenly had trouble breathing and her gums went pale grey. We rushed her back and from then on, it was only bad news with no hope.
I feel privileged, grateful, and eternally lucky I was able to have Dr. Skarie and his staff take care of Izzy with us in her final moments. There is no higher level of bedside manner in this world, and I have nothing but eternal endless respect for Dr. Skarie himself and also his staff. I can't remember anyone's names besides Dr. Skarie, but everyone there was just as important as everyone else. This place is very special, and I'm glad Izzy got to meet new great people in the end. I can barely see through tears as I write this, but I hope Hess Ridge Animal Hospital continues to give other loved ones as much care as they did my Izzy today. Thank you to all the staff for being so compassionate and caring.

We discovered Hess Ridge Animal Hospital when it opened, and we absolutely love it for our cats. Dr. Skarie is gentle, extremely knowledgeable, and thoughtful in his care for our pets. I love that he really looks at each animal as a unique individual and aims to find the best solutions for any problems instead of just “checking boxes” for what’s typical or general. Also seems very reasonably priced. So glad we found this vet!!

These 3 fur kids are so happy that we found the most kind and caring vet of all time. Dr. Kevin Frint. He treats your animals with such compassion and respect and also considers your human feelings as well. I without a doubt would highly recommend his care for your fur babies.

If I could give Dr. Skarie 10 stars I absolutely would but google only allows 5. I had been seeing Dr. Skarie since 2020 at another practice and when I found out he was leaving to open his own I was absolutely devastated and knew we would need to follow him, even if that meant driving 40 minutes versus 20. Dr. Skarie has always gone above and beyond your average veterinarian. I remember my first time taking our then 10 year old beagador, Bentley to him. I had so many questions and he answered every single one of them honestly and empathetically. I have had some of the worst luck with vet's in the area. I knew after my first visit with him I would always want to keep our dogs with him. Whenever I had a question I would send him a quick email and he would respond back with a very detailed and knowledgeable email. Over the past few years he has ran all the labs I have asked for, always was honest with me, had very reasonable prices, and has just been very genuine. I am a dental hygienist and also know how important dental health is in dogs, Dr. Skarie provided some beautiful dental cleanings and even let me see all of the x-rays on Bentley. Unfortunately right before he opened Hess ridge our boy had to be taken to an emergency vet where they found a mass in his abdomen, the following week when his practice opened he got me in immediately for an ultrasound. We were given the devastating news that Bentley had a mass the size of soccer ball on his spleen which would likely burst within days where he would have bled out. I talked to Dr. Skarie over the phone while our boy was with him, he was honest with me and said surgery would likely cause him to bleed out and the life expectancy would still be grave. I appreciated his honesty but his compassion on the phone was so genuine and he was so kind through it all, I could tell he was upset with the results too. He knew Bentley meant the world to me. We decided to bring Bentley home and help him cross rainbow bridge from the comfort of his home. I will never forget Dr. Skaries compassion during my difficult decision, even while I was bawling my eyes out on the phone with him.

A few days after Bentley's passing we rescued a 3 year old lab German shepherd mix named Jackson. He would never replace Bentley but we knew Bentley would want us to have another baby to love. That Friday we got Jackson into Dr. Skaries office with a warning from the shelter that he didn't like the vet or his paws touched. He was so happy for us that we rescued another pup and had so many great suggestions for us. Including a my woof pupsicle that Jackson is now obsessed with. Jackson was great until they tried a blood draw and ended up alligator rolled them despite giving them lots of kisses before the attempt. Dr. Skarie brought him back to us and let us know we would try again when Jackson was ready and maybe with the help of some happy meds. He was again, more than understanding, patient, and kind. A few days later I picked up Bentleys ashes from the staff and Dr. Skarie. Everyone was so kind, caring, and thoughtful. I even received a hand signed card from the team letting me know how sorry they were for my loss.

Dr. Skarie will forever be my favorite vet, we will always bring our dogs here. If you want an amazing, genuine, compassionate, empathetic, honest, caring, vet then go see him and his team. They truly do go above and beyond. You wont regret it! I have referred many patients of mine and friends to his office. Thank you Dr. Skarie and team for always taking care of us and being so compassionate! Our sweet old man Bentley always loved coming to see you, despite the car ride. Hopefully one day Jackson will be the same!

Dr. Skarie is the best veterinarian I've ever met. He's so knowledgeable, kind, and considerate, and great with my little dog who has a history of behavior issues. Dr. Skarie provided excellent care and kept me informed with all the options available for treatment. He even took the time to give me some tips for helping my dog with his behaviors.
