Dr. McDonald is a true professional! He has dealt with several emergency injuries to my mare and mule in a timely fashion and with great care. When my senior mare developed horrible abscesses from a pasture virus, he made multiple trips around my work schedule and kept her in the most comfort possible during this painful situation. He made an awful euthanasia decision peaceful and expressed great care for us and our equine. He researches issues and if he can give directions by texts, he tries to do that vs. charging you for an onsite visit. With the shortage of mobile vets for large animals, it is worth it to become a regular client. We have used Dr. McDonald since 2021 and I won’t let anyone else treat my horses and mule! Southern Colorado is lucky to have him! I agree with and glad that he has a policy for annual maintenance clients. Any equine owner that is not willing to pay for annual vaccinations with a specific vet, should not expect any mobile vet to cater to their emergency needs.

Thank you Dr McDonald for the beautiful care that you gave to my 28 year old gelding the last day of his life. Although, you have always taken amazing care of my horses and dogs over the years, the kindness and compassion that was shown to my boy is appreciated beyond words, as you came quickly twice that day to care for him and did everything that you could to save him and relieve his suffering. Not only are you a great and knowledgeable veterinarian, you are also a great person as well!

Dr McDonald was very professional and friendly. My dogs usually do not like any new person that comes in the house, when Dr McDonald came in they did not even bark which was very unusual. My Akita’s were very comfortable with him and were very good with his exam and shots. Would highly recommend him for you pets!!!!

Absolutely love the experience that was given! He was very knowledgeable and was able to rest our minds easy with what we thought was going on with our boy. He will only recommend what is needed nothing extra. I am very excited to see the progress he does with my boy! 100/10 would recommend to everyone!!

Reached out to receive a services and become a future client. Bryan Mcdonald suggested that his practice would not be a good fit. Why? Because he didnt like the idea that I would have access to other equine veterinarians in my area and ONLY wanted me to use him for all services. The analogy he used was "too many chefs in the kitchen". Odd right? So that would mean anyone using services prior to him would not be "a good fit"? No ones limited on who they need and choose to work with. ESPECIALLY not with horses. Most boarding places and owners have multiple vets. I felt that he would throw a fit when I decided that the service I needed would be far more costly than others and I simply wanted to have a good back up plan. However, I intended to become a client for all remaining services... but then he said that. That suggests to me that he was right, it wouldnt have been a good fit. Imagine having only one doctor and leaving town and not getting help because you choose to use your resources. I understand needing to be clear on a horses medical needs without confusion.. but really? So the last vet that gave her vax should disqualify her from your services right? Or even her being seen by someone else years ago or if I traveled out of town? Lol too many chefs in one kitchen? Theres many chefs who bring the goal to completion in a kitchen, just as there are several vets under one practice or doctors or dentists or beauticians. Thats what documentation and a knowledgeable owner are for! But to throw a fit because someone chooses to get a less costly service, after having searched high and low AND being recommended by a more premier vet location, and still wants all of your care for the duration of the horses life.. is simply a childish play. After having talked to many vets booked out or not being mobile and then be referred to this one.. yes, I will not be limited to just one as it seems in this area there arent too many reliable. Im just glad the red flags show in advance. Some people admit to being money hungry and lack concern for decent care. Absolutely a WRONG fit. My horse and I fit perfectly, perhaps Dr Mcdonald needs readjustment so that he can try to appear better because that behavior is ugly!

You all werent open to being my primary vet, after me choosing another vet for THIS service. Its like me going to the ER for an exam then being denied by the recommended followup doctor for not doing ER services in house. Yes we want to build strong relationships but how can you do that if youre denying individuals for receiving preliminary care elsewhere, then continuing on with you? Total BS, theres no excuse. A repro check doesnt deny you the chance to fulfill your duties as a vet full care. If that were so, pregnant mothers worldwide would not take pregnancy tests lol. Youre literally admitting what I just said and sugarcoating it. Ive found someone "thanks".

We reached out to Dr. McDonald when we noticed that our mini pig was having an issue with her leg. We weren't sure whether it was an injury or not, but we did know that something was wrong. As busy as the local vet services are now, it is almost impossible for the care of our pets to be seen when it's an urgent matter. Dr. McDonald responded to our text, and was at our front door the next morning. His care of our mini pig was professional and compassionate with her needs, as well as me being a wreck (tried to hide that part). Regardless, within an hour the x-rays, hoof trim, and needed meds were done! The quality of care, value of service and professionalism given to us and our pet has ensured that we will absolutely make Dr. McDonald our first call in the future!! Thank you! Dr. McDonald came out for an exam on my mare. He was very thorough and was willing to address any questions or concerns that I had with her. I loved my previous vet that I used before moving to the Pueblo County area, and finding a vet that I trust was a big concern for me with moving. After our visit with Dr. McDonald and establishing care with him, I am much more at ease to know there is a fantastic and knowledgeable vet that I can count on.
