Like most other reviewers, I have nothing at all bad to say about the doctors. They really try to provide the highest quality of care given their conditions. With that being said, the office staff there is horrendous. Not a single smiling face when you walk in, And they barely make eye contact with you when you go to the desk. It says if you are disrupting their work by checking in. What’s worse is their phone etiquette and access to appointment setting. Unless you call their office before 9 AM, you will not be getting a same-day appointment. Additionally, they will not open up same-day appointments the evening before so that you can prepare for the next day. Instead, they give you the excuse that the office manager has locked the books, and it is out of their hands. Some have been sympathetic about this and understanding that it disrupts an entire dazed schedule because You have to wait with anticipation until the morning to plan out what your day looks like based off of their schedule. That is definitely not patient oriented, no parent minded. Recently, I called and had a receptionist try to diagnose our children over the phone (with whatever secretarial degrees they have that makes them apparently qualified to tell me what’s wrong with my child), and then are rude when I still asked for an appointment. She literally hung up the phone on me… We would have loved to continue care with them, but the aggravation and anxiety that their office staff creates is the reason why we are leaving their practice

My family and I absolutely recommend Dr. Dias and staff for dental care. My two daughters feel safe under their care and are eager to visit. One event that solidified our respect for Dr. Dias was on Christmas Eve when my youngest (4 at the time) needed emergent care due to losing her two front teeth from a head on collision with her sister while playing. Dr. Dias was readily available to provide care and ease our mind of her injury while he was on holiday in Texas. He treats both my daughters with wonderful care and we will continue to request his treatment as long as possible. Thanks Doc, and Staff! My girls love y'all!

We are a military family that just returned to the area after three years away at a different duty station. Our children were previously patients of Gales Ferry Pediatrics for three years. In preparation for our transfer, we called in July to determine whether our kids could return as patients. We were told that it would be no problem, just stop by to complete some paperwork. We arrived in the area last week and went to the office – as instructed – where we were told they are not taking new patients and were turned away. We are now left in the lurch to find a new pediatrician. I find Gales Ferry Pediatrics' inability to stand by their word and support a transferring military family disgracefully unprofessional.

This office is horrible. They give out bad fax numbers and don't care about what other providers need for your child's future success. They give out bad information on what they can help you with and contradict one another. I had to go in office for something today and the bleach blonde in the back office gave me dirty looks the whole time I asked questions to better educate myself and understand paperwork as now my child is school age and being she is my first I simply just do not know everything. We go in office at old saybrook and I love the people there. If you need to utilize this place because of insurance just go to old saybrook it's way better. I cannot believe the looks I got today it's unfortunate that most people may leave that office not knowing something because they're afraid to ask due to terrible staffing. The other reviews confirmed I needed to write this how is nothing being done? Shameful.

The receptionist/scheduler has been rude and nasty every single time I’ve had an interaction with her, either in person or on the phone. To the extent that it overrides any positive experiences with the doctor and caused us to stop visiting this office.

My son has been seen at this office since he was a new born, he’s 12 now. Today I called for an emergency visit, he has cold induced asthma. I called and Some rude girl named Maria answered. I told her the situation and she said very rudely for no reason “Well, if you’re so concerned why don’t you take him to the ER?”
She put me over the edge and had the audacity to continue with “I don’t appreciate your attitude.”
Well dear if you had more COMPASSION AND UNDERSTANDING, I wouldn’t have gotten upset. Currently looking for a new pediatrician, it’s time we go separate ways!

Beware of putting your child in the hands of a practice that has rude front office staff and discriminatory practices. I spoke to someone at the front desk and she was horrible. Called to ask if they were currently accepting pediatrics patients and was told yes, then asked my stance on vaccinations. I told them I was fine with it, however my children needed to catch up on a few. She then asked me why very passive aggressively, like she was upset at me for answer. She then changed her mind and told me they wouldn’t accept my children and that they had a waitlist months out. With front office staff like this, I’m glad it didn’t work out, but y’all need to revisit best patient practices, especially as a pediatrics office.

They used to be pretty good, and the doctors are still good. However the way they treat customers has really gone down hill in the last year or so.

I don't think it's the staff so much as policies implemented by the new owners.

Here has been our experience in the last few months....

Gales Ferry Pediatrics now charges a $50 no-show fee if you are more than 15 minutes late. I've found they'll be lenient on the 15 minutes, but on two occasions in the last 2 months their front office has made a scheduling mistake that I've had to take time to get the $50 fee removed each time. On one occasion the doctor couldn't keep the appointment, so they rescheduled without informing us. Obviously we didn't show to the new appointment time and were charged, the second time we changed an appointment, and the front desk made a new appointment for us, but neglected to cancel the old one (again we were charged $50).

They did reverse the charges after we went thought he effort calling them twice. Finally after we thought all was good we received a notice that we've had two no-shows and warning us that they drop patients after a 3rd no-show.

This is all after you consistently wait 30-50 minutes to be seen, even though we show up on time. (I should start charging them a $50 fee each time)

I give them 1 star for their customer service policies, and 1 star for wait time, 5 stars for doctors and 5 stars since they have late night and Saturday appointments which has been convenient.
