We had to seek emergency care with Central Hospital - Guilford when our 15 year old chihuahua went into congestive heart failure while we were on a road trip. They were able to intake her immediately and the doctors were very gracious with their time explaining to us what the situation was and what our options are. We unfortunately had to say goodbye to our old girl the following day, but the staff was very accommodating and sympathetic throughout it all. They also organized for her remains to be sent to our local vet since we don't live in the area.

Despite the tragic circumstances of our visit, we feel very lucky that Central was there to support her and us in her final hours. The whole staff is deserving of a 5 star review.

We were sent away from another emergency vet and in our state of panic were helped by this clinic instead! And I am so thankful and grateful we were. We had an amazing experience from the the first phone call to when we left. They are very compassionate and truly do care. The front desk receptionist is amazing, fast, understanding, and straight to the point! Perfect for an emergency situation! The nurse that helped us (Morgan) was fun, sweet, kind, and energetic! It made us feel very comfortable giving our puppy over to her. The veterinarian doctor, even while busy still took the time to answer questions and fully explain everything to us! The people In the waiting room even were very friendly and you could tell their spirits had been raised by the amazing help from the staff! I hope to never have to go back to an emergency clinic, but if we have to this will be the first place we go!

The communication was exceptional, enabling me to connect with everyone easily and receive timely updates and answers.

The front desk staff was consistently kind and courteous, every time I would call . I also observed that they treated other pet parents with the same level of kindness on multiple occasions. I genuinely appreciate the compassion shown to me during this challenging time.

Excellent staff who clearly care about your animal. I brought my cat in because it wouldn’t stop drooling excessively for days. I told them ahead of time I’m in dire financial straits and they were very accommodating and helpful to point me to the resources where I could have some financial help and not have to pay the whole bill at once. This place partners with CareCredit and takes CareCredit as payment. CareCredit finances your vet bill into monthly installments that way you don’t have to immediately bankrupt yourself with vet costs. Once I told them how much cash I could immediately give them ($1500) they were able to keep it under that price while still providing excellent care for my 1 year old cat.

Anyone reading the reviews here, ignore the 1 star reviews. All of the 1 star reviews are based off of having to wait for over an hour, or pet owners who’s pets weren’t immediately cured after their visit, or people who received a $1000+ bill and expect the hospital to just do the care for free.
Yes, the wait is a little long, but that’s 100% to be expected in any emergency facility. In fact I only ended up waiting roughly 60-90 minutes to be seen. They also see patients quicker depending on your animals situation. Obviously if they aren’t in danger of dying within the next 5 minutes, you will have to wait behind others with more serious issues. They kept my cat overnight and took very good care of him. While I hope I never have to deal with any more pet emergencies, I will keep this place in high regard and will use their services again in the future if needed.

Thank you to the wonderful staff in Guilford. I appreciate everything you do.

We are so thankful for Dr. Morgulis and Dr. Hampton and their team for taking such great care of our cat and saving his life! Not only did they provide excellent treatment but they took the time to speak with me and my family making sure we understood our cat's condition and future medical needs. We are so grateful for the extra time with our cat!

For PIPPA reasons, I won't show my pup. I was blown away by the service and care here! We called ahead and explained our situation. When we arrived I carried Beau in and the receptionist was waiting. She called in triage, and they began working right away. The DVM came in, and she spent at least 30 minutes compassionately explaining the condition and our options. We do not have pet insurance, and the bill was not high. Beau is stable, on meds, and we will be visiting our vet on Monday. Thank you for being there when we needed you and caring for Beau like he was your own.

I don’t normally leave reviews but felt I had to this time. I went to Central Vet Hospital in Guilford a few days ago. I have a mobile vet so there are certain things she’s unable to do as she doesn’t have an office with all the necessary equipment etc. My dog injured her foot and her dew claw was pretty much hanging off, bleeding and probably very painful. My vet came out and was unable to remove it and could not really sedate her as she was not having it!
I called 4 other places, I was told they would not be able to see my dog as it was not a serious “emergency.” I called Guilford and explained the situation. I do understand that being an emergency hospital, they would have to take the patients who were most urgent, Of course!!
I arrived with my dog Baby and my backpack packed as I figured I would be there for hours.
Someone came out right away and took my dog in the back. Literally less than 5 minutes later the vet came walking out with Baby! They just clipped her dew claw like that!! And guess what? Dr Rebecca Smith, DVM looked at me and the front desk staff and said you’re all set, no charge. NO CHARGE!!!!! I almost had a heart attack!! The front desk ladies and Dr Smith could not have been any nicer!!!! I’ve been to other emergency vets and would never go back to any of them!! I highly recommend Central Vet in Guilford!

I called in to this Vet as I am from out of town and my dog was sick. They took her in immediately. They explained everything they wanted to do as well as how much it would cost. They were super kind and compassionate at a time where I wasn't sure if she would make it. (Turns out my girl will be ok! 🙂 I was so thankful for how they followed up and for how good they were to us! Definitely recommend!
