I can't say enough good things about Shore Haven Veterinary Hospital! I recently had my bunny, Milly, spayed here, and the entire experience was fantastic. The surgery went smoothly, and the staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive. I really appreciated how they kept me updated throughout the process — they called me immediately after the surgery to let me know it was a success and that Milly was already up and walking around.

It’s now one week post-op, and Milly’s incision on her belly is healing beautifully. I also asked for detailed post-op notes, and their response time was impressively quick. It was clear that they genuinely care about their patients, both furry and human, and are dedicated to providing the best care possible. The level of communication, care, and professionalism exceeded my expectations.

I would highly recommend Shore Haven to anyone looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable veterinary team. They truly go above and beyond for their patients, and I’m so grateful for the care Milly received. Thank you, Shore Haven!

Fantastic clinic and wonderful staff. I was able to get a same day appointment for my dog who had been having GI issues. The vet tech took a thorough history and the vet was very gentle with his exam. Together they answered my questions and discussed treatment options. They gave us a written estimate with costs and let us choose, I really appreciated this upfront approach. Thank you for taking such good care of my pup!

I HIGHLY recommend Shore Haven Vet because they are incredibly professional, kind, and their communication is AMAZING. I have been to vets offices in Ohio, Montana, and Connecticut and Shore Haven is by far the best one!! Each member of their staff that I have spoken to, whether over the phone or in person, has never made me feel like they were in a hurry. This includes Barbara (Briana?) and Nicole at the front desk, the vet techs Jesus and Emily, and Dr. Pires!

I often have had to chase down results or quotes from other vets offices, but Shore Haven has never failed to follow through. Dr. Pires called me during Osiris' dental to give me updates on how he was doing and she also discussed bloodwork in detail with me over the phone for both of my cats! Plus, I have been delightedly shocked to receive a call to check in on my boys they day after their appointments. And last but not least, while I've been sitting on a bench in the main office, Emily has kneeled down in front of me to go over paperwork! While it is such a down to earth way to meet with a pet owner, I worry about your knees! Some cushions might be good to keep on hand. ?

Overall, I feel a lot of relief knowing that I've established my boys with a great team that will help make sure they live their best nine lives. ❤️

Dr Faubert is the only vet we’ll ever trust. She cares deeply about any of our pets. We mainly now see her for our rabbits and she’s spayed three of them so far and they are doing amazing. The team is great with giving updates on the day of the surgery and even following up the next day. Wouldn’t trust anyone else for our fur babies. Highly recommend and they’re very understanding of finances too.

This is one of the best experiences I have had with a veterinary practice. This was during such a difficult time and decision for my elderly cat Malone. From the minute the staff contacted me (Nicole), the tech Lyla was another angel. Whomever hires the staff in this practice gets what us pet owners need. There is not enough space to write about Doctor Coins. He is clearly one of the most qualified, educated and emotionally intelligent vets I have met. He made a gut wrenching decision reassuring and explained everything so thoroughly. He felt like a friend by the time we left.!! Thank you again all you wonderful humans there. My Malone was in great hands to transition. Xo

This was my cat, Willow’s first visit with Dr. Wayne, as we’ve recently moved to the area.

First, the environment is very clean and spacious. The exam rooms look like little houses on the outside (so cute and inviting).

Willow was so calm as we waited. But when the tech, Jesus, called us in, her other side emerged— anxious Calico. She was growling, hissing, spitting, shaking, ears straight back, pupils fully dilated, you name it. Jesus was impressively knowledgeable and had a professional, yet personable and warm demeanor. He mentioned having worked with big cats (tigers, et al), so I’m assuming Willow’s “hissy fit” was nothing by comparison, and he treated her with mindfulness and compassion.

Dr. Wayne and Jesus were both very attentive to the emotional needs of my kitty. Jesus actually spent most of Willow’s appointment sitting on the floor in an attempt to ease her anxiety. Dr. Wayne eventually joined him on the floor in hopes of making her feel safe. Unfortunately, Willow’s anxiety was too far gone for her to sufficiently relax.

Although they COULD have proceeded with the examination, they determined that they didn’t want to chance traumatizing her further and creating a negative association with being there.

*As a side note, at Willow’s previous vet, they NEVER showed compassion for Willow’s anxiety. The tech would just throw a towel over her and pin her down as the vet did her thing. Once, they took her into a back office while I waited in the exam room for them to trim her nails, until I heard Willow let out a BLOOD CURDLING SCREAM, and I barged back there, looking for my cat, but by the time I found her, they were done. So I KNOW Willow’s more than a handful, and I SO appreciate the extraordinary way she was handled by these two professionals.*

Dr. Wayne gave me a 30-day supply of Purina Calming Care— the box reads, “May take up to 6 weeks for full effect,” but Willow has chilled out and is sleeping after the first dose (granted, she may be exhausted from the tantrum she had at the vet).
He also gave me a bottle of Gabapentin to calm Willow down next week before our 2nd attempt at her 1st appointment!

There were a couple times when they had forgotten something and I had to visit twice in the same day.

Once was when they had forgotten to give my dog one of her vaccines and asked me to come back in the same day and the second time they had forgotten to give me her prescription food. I had to leave work to come back both times before they closed.

Thankfully they understood the inconvenience and quickly handled the situation by waiving some fees.

Kind vets and understanding receptionists!

Most expensive vet in the area, for one. Do not take cats here for vaccines; they will charge you vet tech fee for a simple shot whereas other vets simply charge for the shot.

They quoted me almost double what another vet did for my cat's neuter (he has cryptorchidism). It was $600+ at Shore Haven, whereas West Haven Animal Clinic was $400 (but they are so good and honest that the veterinarian told me it only took him ten extra minutes and charged me a normal neuter cost anyways).

But the real kicker is their practices with kittens. I was worried about worms in my new kitten, and they told me to bring in a stool sample, so I did. They told me she was fine. That is not how it works! West Haven Animal Clinic properly informed me that they need the deworming treatment to poop the worms out, so they wouldn't show up if she had them in a normal fecal sample before treatment. Now I have to get my other cat dewormed, too, because he was never properly dewormed as a kitten. They charged me a fecal sample that did nothing.

Seriously, I don't leave reviews often, but this place will uncharge you like there's no tomorrow and provides false information. What vet doesn't deworm kittens? I don't know about other vets in the area, but West Haven Animal Clinic is a lifesaver. They are honest people. Vaccines just cost what the vaccine is, no vet tech fees. Save yourself the money and the worms.

Edit to reply to your comment because I really don't see what calling is going to do about this: my account is under Kaitlyn, not Val. The last name should have pulled it up just fine, though.
