Do not use this practice if you have other options. It is a money grabbing arrangement, the doctors and owners are heartless and refuse to discuss options with you. I have not even been offered a consult with Dr Swain. The office looks and sounds cold and miserable.
I brought my dog in with prolonged coughing, and she was struggling to breathe. I was put through the wringer for tests and medications that could otherwise have been prescribed through an online store or pharmacy. The treatment itself is more expensive than my own pills. I cannot afford to have a pet put through their battery of expensive protocols. When I later objected to the need for more tests and follow up visits (they raise the price of a visit by 45% between appointments) and I explained that I can’t afford the visit AND the meds, their answer was to drop my dog as a patient.
I am forced to choose between caring for a family pet or paying the utilities.
They claim to care about and treat the pets but view the owners as ATMs.
I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM.

I had to bring my cat Olly on Friday to the vet in Townsend. I don’t know how to start but my cat was sick in June and had the same symptoms now again. I explained the vet how Olly was in June and how his symptoms are now the same. The vet was very kind and took the time to listen to me and to give my cat the same treatment like he received in June (btw we went to a different vet in June). The staff is very nice and takes their time for their furry patients what I liked a lot. The vet tech we had was so friendly too and gave me advises for my cat and answered all my questions. I felt like my cat got the best care at this vet office and I will bring my pets from now on always to that facility. The front desk was also very friendly and kind.
Long story short. My cat wasn’t eating/ drinking or doing anything for a few days. We went to the vet on Friday. Olly got an infusion for his dehydration and other medication and today (Sunday) he’s all the same again❤️ he’s drinking, cuddling, eating and even playing again. I am so happy he’s doing better and I’m so thankful for the great staff we got to meet on Friday ?

Earlier this year, we noticed that our 10 year old chocolate lab was experiencing some issues with her eye. When we brought her in for her annual physical, Dr. Mauro correctly identified something that they don’t often see- a specific kind of tumor behind her left eye. She referred us to Blue Pearl for a formal diagnosis, and while the dr we saw at Blue Pearl was Knowledgeable, kind and compassionate when they told us the only option was to remove the eye, their estimate to do the surgery was just under $6,000. The staff at BayAnimal has always been wonderful with Livvie, so we went back to them to see if they would do the surgery( even the dr at Blue Pearl said she would be completely comfortable with Livvie having an enucleation at BayAnimal) . They were amazing throughout the entire process. We were able to get an appointment within a week to have the eye removed, and they communicated with us during the week to see how Livvie was and gave us clear instructions for the day of surgery, and then for two weeks post surgery. Dr. Mauro was compassionate towards both Livvie and us, addressing and acknowledging the emotions that go along with this surgery. By the time surgery rolled around, we were confident that it was the right decision for our 10 yr old best friend, and that she wouldn’t receive better care anywhere else…and we were right. Thanks to Dr Mauro and the staff at Bayanimal for helping Livvie live her best life-minus one eye and saving us about $4,000…which we’ve already spent on recovery treats for our girl. We couldn’t be more grateful!

What a wonderful experience we had. My 12 year golden scared me when she woke me up at 5 am with a seizure. Luckily they were so kind and squeezed her in to make sure she was okay. They did not have to do that but they did. What a wonderful vet.

The best vet I’ve been to , we had an emergency with our 11 yr old yorkie .

We live very close and rushed over with her in our pajamas they ran to get her and started working on her right away very compassionate they were in front and very very understanding .

Unfortunately our Monet passed away but they tried all day with her even the doctor was upset of course lots of emotions .

I want to thank them for all they did and how they treated us and our dog the whole time . They let you grieve and have time everyone was so great in an awful time 2 days before thanks giving . So to the whole staff from us a big , “thank you “
