I traveled almost 6 hours from central Florida to get a partial thyroidectomy for my 12-year old dog. All of the places I priced in my area were astronomically high and I was wondering if I would even be able to afford the surgery at all. Veterinary Surgery Service Inc was very transparent with their costs and answered all my questions. Dr. Wight and his staff were amazing! Very friendly and knowledgeable. My dog made a quick recovery with no complications. Dr Wight even called personally to update us on lab results and answer any postop questions I had. It was definitely worth the drive. The surgical cost turned out to be even lower than what they had initially quoted me! Dr. Wight could easily charge twice the amount he does which just goes to show he actually loves his job and taking care of other people's fur babies. I highly recommend this place and Dr. Wight.

We got our cats front leg amputated here and they helped us every step of the way and were very professional and helpful. They also helped us get him fixed while he was under so we didn’t have to put him under twice for two separate surgeries. I couldn’t have been happier with how things were handled despite our fur kiddo having to lose his arm.

Dr. John Wight and his staff are absolutely phenomenal. We brought our dog in for an odd growth on his toe, and during the first visit, we learned it was a cancerous tumor. They scheduled a procedure for the very next business day, and after four weeks, the growth is gone, and the site is practically healed.

The sense of urgency, level of professionalism, and genuine care for our family cannot be overstated! We have been dog owners for well over 20 years and can truly say that, in all our experiences, Dr. Wight and his staff at Veterinary Surgery Services are top-notch. If there were a rating higher than five, we would give it.

Thank you, Dr. Wight and team!

My cat had a bulla osteotomy on his ear. I was told they would remove the polyp and the infection. The surgery went smoothly. A few weeks later he still had a temp and they had me come in asap for more antibiotics.

At the follow-up later on, I told the tech he still had a lot of brown gunk in his ear and it was really bothering him. They didn't address the lingering issue and said looks great and sent us on our way. I called, and they told me to get his ear cleaned at my vet. So I did. 2 days later, it was back to how it originally was. He now has a very bad ear infection with multiple different kinds of bacteria that i am treating with my vet.

This place is great, but aside from a follow-up, they offer zero aftercare even when it was something that was originally supposed to be taken care of. They did the surgery and got their $2100.00 payment and couldn't care less.

Dr. Wight and his staff are so caring and kind. My Louie was dragging his legs and our vet in Pensacola referred us to this Veterinary Surgical Center in Fort Walton. From the very first consultation through the final physical therapy session we were made extremely confident that our Louie would make a full recovery, and he is doing so well.
We appreciate them so much, and we have our happy boy back again.

We visited Veterinary Surgery Service in Fort Walton Beach from out of state for laser disc ablation surgery for our 5 year old Dachshund, Gus. From the moment we arrived, the staff was extremely helpful and supportive to our pet’s clinical needs.

Our dog suffered from IVDD and had surgery 4 months prior. While his initial surgery was successful, the road to recovery was long and difficult. As soon as he was stable enough to undergo the laser disc ablation procedure, we signed up and headed down.

THIS PROCEDURE ACTUALLY HELPED PREVENT ANOTHER DISC HERNIATION.

Our experience with the entire team at Veterinary Surgery Service was a 10/10 and we expect Gus to have many more memories thanks to the their efforts. Cannot thank them enough for the dedicated, professional care they provided us. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.

I wish I could give them 10 stars. When I was referred to other surgery vets in other cities and didn't like the bad reviews they got, I sought out a surgery center for myself. I was impressed with Dr. Wight's reputation and record and our girl went 1.5 hours away to him for Acl surgery. It was the best decision I could have made. The facility is spotless and the staff are beyond amazing amd caring. I wouldn't have gone through with it if I weren't comfortable there. Her surgery went beautifully and her incision site is so perfect with no redness at all around the staples. They provide you with all the information after a thorough exam and you leave knowing your baby is getting the best care. We were given all her meds and specific items for her after care and instructions are setup clearly in writing for the 8 weeks to follow. I highly recommend them and thank God we found them.

We have taken three of our dogs to Dr. Wight. Recently, Dr. Wight removed a cancerous and invasive tumor from our yellow Lab, Toby. If the medical condition of your pet cannot be taken care of by your regular vet, Dr. Wight's Veterinary Surgery Service is the place to go. He's probably the best in the entire SE and pet owners in the panhandle are very lucky to have him around.
