I hate to write this review because we have raved about this vet for years. Our entire family goes to this vet. We normally see Dr. Glenn Zeitz and we love him. Our beautiful girl Ghost unfortunately started feeling sick Saturday night and not eating since Friday, it didn’t seem too urgent so we waited till Monday and they booked us with Dr. Escobar (a new doctor we’ve never seen). By Monday morning her eyes were yellow, wouldn’t go on walks, in obvious pain, throwing up water. They did an xray and blood work. She came back with liver toxins and pancreatitis. Dr. Escobar was only concerned about the pancreas and kept telling me not to worry about the liver (even though her eyes were yellow). They kept her for the day giving IVs and medicine (a 3 day shot for pancreatitis). We asked for pain management for her and Dr. Escobar told us the medicine they gave us should be sufficient even though she left the vet in pain. Tuesday morning we brought her in for the second shot, her eyes were worse and her gums are yellow, they didn’t have the ability to treat liver failure so they sent us to BluePearl. Once we got there they IMMEDIATELY gave her fentanyl because she was in pain. Long story short and a $8300.00 estimate just for testing, they took a sample of the inflammation and fluid in her belly (within 15 min so I don’t know why Stevens didn’t do this), she had septic acid and was given a 15% survival rate. We put her down at home that afternoon.

I don’t know why they kept this case if they couldn’t treat liver failure. They should have sent us straight to BluePearl, but we trusted Stevens Animal Hospital to help her. We are distraught and angry. Dr. Escobar rushed my husbands questions looking at his watch as my husband spoke with him. Refused pain management and let her suffer longer than necessary. Completely unacceptable and ended with the death of our beautiful girl.

I have been going to Stevens Animal Hospital since 2017 to have my dog groomed by Marlene. I can honestly say she is the best dog groomer in Pompano Beach. The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive to my dog’s needs. She gives her a bath, a haircut, and a nail trim, all for a reasonable price. My dog looks and smells amazing after her pampering session. She is so happy and relaxed, she doesn’t want to leave. I highly recommend grooming by Marlene to anyone who loves their furry friends and wants to give them the best care possible. Thank you, Marlene, for making my dog feel like a star! ?

We have been clients of Dr. Stevens for 20 years. Every member of their team is amazing and there is no other vet team in the area as compassionate and kind as they are. About 4 years ago we started to use their groomer, Marlene who we adore. She has worked with us for our past 4 dogs and does a great job. You can see from our photos how amazing she is. I would recommend Dr. Stevens and Marlene for all of your pet issues. They are a first class act!!

Stevens Animal Hospital is the BEST PLACE in South Florida to bring your animals. We drive 40 minutes to bring our dog here. Everyone that works at Stevens Animal Hospital is so nice and helpful and you can tell they actually care about the animals. Marlene is the BEST GROOMER we have ever been to while living in Florida. We rescued a small dog off the street that animal control wanted to euthanize. Her coat was all matted,nails growing into her paws, and very dirty and just physically worn out. Dr Mark Steven's examined her and then she went to Marlene the groomer at the clinic. She took one look at her and was very upset of her condition. Marlene worked on her all day in increments. We couldn't believe the job she did on her at the end of the day! She was brought home and named Mattie due to her matted coat when we found her. Marlene is extremely good at her craft. It was obvious that she loves and cares for animals. She has been grooming our dogs and cats for years. You are extremely good at what you do, and your love for animals definitely shows. Thank You!
