I can't say enough about this place. My Golden Retriever had to have emergency surgery in the early hours of the morning on a Tuesday and was in the hospital for about 10 days after. Even during an incredibly scary time, I felt so much peace about his care. The staff are so compassionate and understanding. They truly care about your pet and treat them as their own. They updated me regularly, answered all of my questions attentively, and gave me thorough discharge instructions when it was finally time to take him home. I knew he was getting the best possible care and the whole time I was nothing short of impressed. They saved my dog's life and gave us so many more years with him. I am forever grateful and can give nothing but high recommendations.

Had a great experience this weekend at Suncoast Vet Specialty Center. Dr. Bean was professional, compassionate and efficient. He was very gentle with my dog and although I got bad news he delivered it in the kindest way. I especially like that he got down on his knee to say goodbye to my dog when we left. Sarasota is lucky to have such an amazing animal hospital! I can’t say enough good things about Suncoast. I was here visiting when my cat got an intestinal blockage. She ended up needing surgery and I’m so happy she ended up here. The entire team was knowledgeable, patient, efficient, and took such good care of my girl. They called to update me regularly and answered all of my questions day and night following her procedure (shoutout to Karen and Tammy!). Pet emergencies are so scary but Suncoast made it as positive of an experience as it could be. If you’re ever in need, do not hesitate to use this incredible facility!

Blue Pearl is our go to emergency hospital, but a bit far from our home. We tried calling this location to gather information on their services and the receptionist was far from empathetic and helpful. The tone used to answer our questions and the lack of willingness to go the extra mile to provide us information were all we needed to experience to not step foot in this establishment.

I am forever grateful to Dr. Young. My cat has suffered for quite some time. I was sent to him by Gulf Coast Scratching Post Cat Hospital. He suggested some tests for my cat, which required anesthesia. I was worried but I had faith he was advising me with the best treatment plan. My cat had the procedure and he found the issue, we had piece of mind, no tumors were present. He is a gifted surgeon, they have a wonderful clinic, the staff is friendly and very kind. The front desk is wonderful. I come from the Midwest, my cat had several tests by an internal medicine vet, and he didn’t find the cause. My poor kitty can hopefully get some relief and be well again thanks to Dr. Young and staff!

I went there as an emergency after my dog got hit by a car and our regular family veterinarian was closed. I called ahead of time to make sure my dog would be able to be seen since I didn’t have money on me at the moment because we just bought a property then our puppy caught the pneumonia and I paid cash to our vet. but I had proof (bank statements) that I make almost 8,000 a month and my credit is fair because of a lack of credit history (I pay everything cash, I’ve never made payments for anything) not because of derogatory marks but I was able to make payment for any cost of care and they acted like that would be fine over the phone… Well after I got there EVERYTHING changed… I got there at 1:30 am, and I explained the situation they said my dogs pelvis was possibly fractured (they weren’t even sure) and his femur was fractured and his paw needed to be amputated. And it would cost 10,000 worst case scenario and I was fine with that… but they said I couldn’t afford it… I literally own my property NO PAYMENTS, MY VEHICLE, I MAKE NO PAYMENTS ON ANYTHING… I make 8k a month and have very little bills so don’t tell me what I can and can’t afford… it was 5:30 so I said fine, my vet opens soon, I’ll just take him there… THEY THREATENED TO HAVE ANIMAL SERVICES CALLED ON ME IF I DIDN’T PUT MY DOG TO SLEEP RIGHT THEN AND THERE… This is a money hungry, heartless, veterinary hospital that only cares about themselves… my 10 year old son was there begging for them to not do that to his dog but they gave us no choice… I have contacted my lawyer about the matter and he is building a case to sue… please, if you love your animals DO NOT BRING THEM TO THIS HOSPITAL…! There are 2 other hospitals in Sarasota, this one is absolutely disgraceful… I have recordings of them threatening me with animal services and photos…!
