Our beloved cat needed emergency care. We called on the way in and they were ready for us on arrival. He was in critical condition and needed to be put to sleep unfortunately. Today I had to say goodbye to my best friend. I knew it was time, and when I called to explain what I needed, the lady who answered the phone was kind and explained the process to me. Another lady met me at the front door, and it was so nice to see exactly who I was handing him over to. There was no rush and no pressure to say goodbye faster than I was ready for.

I will never forget my best buddy, George. I will also never forget how the NW PA Emergency Center staff helped make today bearable. Thank you for ending his pain and helping me through a painful afternoon.

The place and the people are nice but be aware you will be spending an arm and a leg here! I came in for my cat who was sick and after 2 hours of waiting I got a call back saying that all his testing would be close to a grand! They hadn’t even done anything on him during that 2 hour wait and that $1,000 only included testing they wanted to run, not treatment. I understand vets are expensive but most people don’t have 2 grand lying around to save their pets in an emergency. Unless your pet is quite literally on deaths bed I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The communication is also very bad, when I was trying to get the girl on the phone to explain what the $1,000 was for she kept hesitating and not knowing what to say. I definitely suspect they are overcharging for unnecessary things.

I'm very pleased on how the Dr and the staff here helped my dog Willow. She came in and was told she had a obstruction in her stomach from another vet hospital that was not able to do surgery, cause of being short staffed. They were able to get her in right away for me and find out the issue that was making my baby sick. The Dr made sure I was aware of everything they were going to need to do and did on her. The staff was friendly and answered any of my questions and even gave me info to make it a very smooth transaction for her to return home safe. Thank you Pet emergency center from my heart for my sweet girl return home safe and feeling so much better! ❤️

I brought my senior small breed dog in due to pain, and an inability to get an appointment with my regular vet for 10+ days. I was very scared, as anyone would be. Dr Meyer and all support staff were kind, took the time to explain and answer questions, and were overall highly professional. Most negative reviews I read had to do with wait time and price, which tend to be part of going to any emergency facility.

CLIENTS BEWARE - This is, hands-down, the WORST veterinary care I have ever seen in my 73 years. I suspected my 11-year-old male kitty was experiencing a urinary blockage. On Saturday July 6, 2024, I rushed him to this place. He was misdiagnosed upon arrival. After he finally got in, a tech came to the parking lot and confirmed my cat was blocked. I had to pay $2,550 up front before his admission. I called Saturday night and Sunday. No one was available to speak with me. Not a single vet ever called me with an update or status.

I got my FIRST call from a Joanne, the "Office Manager," at 10:30 P.M. SUN NIGHT, telling me to come get my cat at 7:10 a.m. the next morning. I asked what was done, what did the path report say, where was the vet, etc. I was upset and confused. What had happened with my pet? He had just had his catheter put in 24 hours prior. I had paid $2,550, and not a single medical person had contacted me since I dropped him off the afternoon before.

There was no compassion at all, NONE, from Joanne. She dismissively explained what "typically" happens with a blockage. I cut her off. I did not care about "typical." What had happened with my pet I wanted some answers. Her response was that I pick him up and take him to another vet. And if I wasn't there by 8 a.m., I would be charged with abandonment(!). That woman was nothing but unhelpful, short-tempered, disrespectful, and insensitive. Why is she working there? I think it is safe to say it's time for Joanne to find another job or be fired.

NO MEDICAL PERSONNEL EVER CONTACTED ME. I had no idea what I was paying for. I had no definitive diagnosis; no idea what his status was, or what they had even done. I was in a state of SHOCK. The paperwork they gave me did NOT even have a diagnosis listed. The final bill was $1786, which I felt like I had just flushed down the toilet.

The catheter was already removed when I arrived, even though I did not request it, and it certainly was not my wish. I then rushed my cat to Camboro Veterinary Hospital, who did an outstanding job. Dr. Acosta and Shelby, the surgical nurse, and staff treated me with the utmost empathy and respect. My cat was immediately admitted and treated. The standard of care provided was impeccable. I cannot recommend Camboro highly enough. They were wonderful.

I have had numerous dogs and cats over the years, and I have NEVER, EVER experienced anything even remotely approaching the degree of unprofessionalism and disgraceful standard of care I experienced at this NW PA Pet Emergency Center, which was basically malpractice. Do NOT, under any circumstances, go here unless your pet is at death's door ... not even then unless you're going to euthanize your pet. They are the WORST I have ever seen.

The staff here were AMAZING with our care from the first interaction to the last!! They knowledgeably communicated updates and pricing with me as they collected results of testing. They were thorough and offered least invasive options vs most invasive options- I chose the invasive sedation and surgery because I FELT STRONGLY about the amount of fluid retention. I wanted best case scenario to prevail for my pet. This honestly ended up being a fraction of what I had anticipated or would have paid at PVSEC.
♥️ For as bad as it was, it could not have been better! We will absolutely be transporting emergencies here when Wales Veterinary can't be available (Doesn't happen often, but even super heroes cannot be everywhere filling every need all the time) I cannot stress how important it is to have strong veterinary/client relationships!!

They’re supposed to be open from 8 pm until 8 am… I’ve had pet emergencies twice and both times I arrived at 10 pm and at 4:15 AM. And they were closed. Nobody answered the phone. No notification or posted updated on their door. You guys are useless.
