Huge thank you to First State Urgent Vet. We were dog sitting for a friend and the dog ate a nylon dog toy. We immediately brought him to Dr. Downs and her team, they evaluated him and began a responsive treatment plan that helped to prevent significant future medical issues. Highly recommend!!!

So I took my Senior dog to Middletown Vet who we have used for our pets for 10 years. They misdiagnosed our dog by doing leg x-rays. We even asked if there was a possibility it could be her uterus. The doctor assured us that it was not. My dog was still limping and was still in pain a week later I reached out to urgent pet. It turned out. She had less than 48 hours to live. She needed emergency surgery to have her uterus removed. Dr Demarco did a phenomenal job!!! Three weeks later our pup is back to normal eating again and is happy as can be I cant’t thank you enough For saving our families dog. I would highly recommend anyone to come here for any emergency!!!!!!!

I came here for a very sad visit, but the staff could not have made it a better experience. I arrived alone with my cat of 14 years because it was her time to go. There was no wait time and I was met with smiles, hugs, and empathy. Everything was very clearly explained to me upfront, including procedures and payment. Would highly recommend.

My 6 year old pug had a really bad ingrown toenail! My experience here was just absolutely great! From the moment we got there, they took us right back and was very transparent with the prices of the procedure. The vet tech Katie, was so great! She explained everything so well and showed so much empathy in a nervous moment with your pets. They did the procedure and dressed him up and fed him cheese! Great care! Thank you all so much!

I had to bring my Murphy in for stomach issues and everyone was amazing starting with the front desk staff. Dr. Downs was amazing. She made sure I understood what was going on and all my options and was beyond caring to not only Murphy but myself as well. I had to leave him there for a few hours and nurse Gianna made sure he felt safe and was comfortable by snuggling him and reading books to him. I am forever grateful for everyone there!

I completely agree with all the one-star reviews for this place. My experience was just as bad, if not worse. The staff were rude and seemed uninterested in providing any real help. The doctor was more focused on pushing expensive treatments rather than addressing the actual issue my pet was facing. The whole experience felt like a money grab, and I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. If you're looking for a place that genuinely cares about your pet's well-being, I would strongly advise against coming here.
