We love Habitat! One of the reasons I was excited to return to Boise a few years back was to be able to bring our cats there. We returned for our annual exam with both our kitties today, and we were in and out in 20 minutes. We have never had to wait around, and the whole staff is kind, professional, and great at communicating. These are trustworthy care providers who are set on doing right by you and your pet. All in all, they are super pleasant to work with. I can’t recommend them enough!

Dr. Peters is such a professional and is so knowledgeable and caring! She really helped us in a scary moment when our pup was very uncomfortable and we didn’t know what was going on. She went the extra mile of giving our dog a bath and keeping her for extra observation hours. We have been very happy with Habitat!

Today, I went through what every pet owner dreads…letting my little girl go. I hadn’t been to Habitat since their move, but they were my first call on a weekend when I decided it was time for my cat to cross rainbow bridge. She went from what seemed perfectly healthy to dying of kidney failure in a matter of days. This was incredibly unexpected for me, and I had no idea what to even do once I made this decision.

I called Habitat at 9am, and I was informed that they didn’t have an opening until 10:30am. The receptionist said she would call me back if they were able to take me earlier. Mere minutes passed, and I was told I could come immediately. I was advised to park at the back and call when I was there, as someone would come out to take me to a room, so I wouldn’t have to go through the receptionist desk. Once I arrived I was escorted through a small courtyard into a private room. There was a candle lit, and grieving fliers on a small table. I was advised on my options and chose a beautiful earn for my girl. Both the original girl I spoke to and the vet that came in to perform the procedure were incredibly kind and patient. They talked me through everything, and I knew Pepper was not only comfortable, but in a relaxing place.

As devastating as this experience was, I am grateful for Habitat for providing me and Pepper the dignity of a peaceful passing.

Habitat Vet, and specifically Dr. Peters and Dr. Tafoya, have been absolutely incredible for our family. Dr. Peters first met our German Shepherd and navigated chronic and complex allergy issues, including yeast and ear infections, and helped us reach a point of steady health. After our cats had reactions to teeth extractions, both Dr. Peters and Dr. Tafoya helped ensure that they were pain free and able to heal comfortably. When my little dog needed an exam, Dr. Peters spent literal hours with us to provide sedation and work with his reactivity, whereas other veterinarians in the past have said that they “did all they could” given his demeanor.

We will continue coming to Habitat for a long time to come because of the above and beyond care that our animals have received, and we are incredibly appreciative for the efforts of the entire Habitat staff!
