My cousin is currently in the hospital and the housekeeping staff stripped her bed and sent her iPhone off to the industrial laundry with her dirty sheets (I was able to locate it via 'find my phone') when she was taken for a test (we think). The staff has been completely unsympathetic, did not try to contact either the housekeeping staff or the laundry, disavowed responsibility and seemed to not give a sh*t. The laundry office is closed for the weekend and the hospital seems to not have an emergency phone number for them. Or, the hospital hasn't bothered to give us one! Turns out the same thing happened to my sister-in-law's brother at another hospital in the very same health care network (Swedish Covenant). Two people in one family? What are the odds? Must be a chronic problem. Which means to me that the staff needs better training--this cannot be blamed solely on the patient. The health care has been fine, but the attitude?

Doctors and staff want to help and do a great job, but they are so understaffed it’s impossible. Years ago you were seen reasonably fast, now it is always hours. Of course ambulances need to be seen first and triage is necessary but waiting for hours when you feel terrible is just cruel. Let doctors and nurses do their job well by staffing them appropriately. The ER charges us enough to staff it so that people in pain don’t have to be stuck in a waiting room for 4+ hours. Do better endeavor!

I recently took my son to urgent care due to severe vomiting and umbilical pain. Concerned about a possible appendicitis, we were referred to the hospital for further testing. We arrived at the hospital around 9 PM. After a blood test and CT scan, we were sent back to the waiting room and left there for hours.

It wasn’t until 3:10 AM that we finally got a room, and within 10 minutes, we were informed that he was fine to be discharged. This kind of wait time is completely unacceptable, especially for a child who was in distress. If the situation wasn’t serious, we should have been told sooner, rather than spending over six hours waiting anxiously.

I understand hospitals can be busy, but this experience shows a severe lack of communication and efficiency.

Had one positive experience before here with our kids, but today and yesterday was a complete farce. The staff is rude and the rules make no sense.

They make you talk with a cranky old man then walk five feet forward to talk with a couple more miserable individuals. What's the point of that?

They don't allow kids under 18 to go inside the main area so they have to sit in the lobby by themselves. They can roam around the lobby, but can't sit and behave in a room with their mother who will be in the hospital for days. Chalk it up to another poorly run hospital that operates like a business, but with miserable employees. God I wish someone could open a decent hospital.
