My horse needed a scope done due to chronic choking. It required an impromptu overnight stay due to some technical issues. Georgia didn’t seem to mind. In fact, she refused to load. How many people does it take to load Georgia? Quite a few. But the wonderful vets and techs at Arizona Equine got her in!

They went above and beyond during her stay. Georgia said, “five stars. Didn’t like the tube down my nose. But would stay here again. Good amenities.”

The scope was done quickly and everything was explained along the way. Was able to do it without sedation and they kept my horse calm through it.

I will be switching to Arizona Equine for all of my horse needs going forward.

I had used them back in 2021 when I had to help my first horse cross. They came so quickly on a Sunday morning. They were very patient and compassionate despite the fact it was a muddy rainy mess. Let me take a few more minutes to say goodbye and ensured his comfort through it all.

Our Gelding Taitos was near dead when I found him Sunday morning, July 21, 2024 laying in his stall. After our local large animal vet was unable to help due to a blockage...we drove him from Tucson to AZ Equine in Gilbert. Dr. Howard is amazing, he saved our boys live with immediate surgery on Sunday afternoon at 4:35 pm. The culprit was a blockage the size of a softball containing Mesquite beans, knocked off by a heavy storm...he ate a bunch. Make sure to rake them up and away from a heavy muncher! Thank you for everything you did for us Dr. Howard & team. You are all a blessing! The Hoffmann's and Taitos back at home today?

The Rescue Dog

Dr. Kelsey K is one of the nicest and most patient people I've ever met. She's somehow able to keep a smile on her face the entire time even when I'm asking my 1000th question. She was even polite when things got weird and the owner of the stable where I board my horse came over and started asking her if there was any permanent damage to my horse because "they" didn't want to buy a broken horse. Is somebody trying to sell my horse?!
I on the other hand did buy a broken horse who was even more broken than I realized. The vets at AZ Equine completely fixed him though. My horse went from being a sad skeleton the day I got him to being healthy, happy and spirited. Thank you AZ Equine friends!

Dr. Howard has done 2 surgeries on my gelding. He is amazing. He was able to get us in on an emergency basis in Dec 2023 to do an enucliation, which turned out beautiful. He placed an implant in the socket. It looks like he has his eye closed, and he even left some eyelashes. Most people don't even notice unless I say something. For such a traumatic procedure for us, Sam was much happier and out of pain.

My mare had arthritis in her right front pastern joint. She would get short term relief with steroid injection followed by gel injections. She was partially bone on bone in the joint. I interviewed several surgeons before selecting Dr Howard at Az equine!!
I could not be happier with my choice!! My mate had surgery today for arthrodesis of the pastern joint.
His entire staff makes you feel welcome and explain procedures prior to and after the surgery. Dr Howard spent time answering my email questions as well
As meeting with me at my request prior to the surgery. Today was a big day but they were very professional and my mare did great!!
I myself work in surgery so I was able to watch through a large window they treated my mare with kid gloves!!!
They have great sterile technique and Dr Howard came out when she was in recovery room to tell me he was pleased with how it went. She is in a fiberglass cast and he showed me the X-rays of the screw placement!!!
I had been told to euthanize her but she has no other issues so I eould not even consider that!
I can’t say enough great things about this place and my experience with DLL of the staff!!
It’s clean and they take great care of your horse!!

I sadly would never recommend this facility (if we could give zero stars we would). I remember looking at reviews thinking this seems like a nice place, but we were so wrong. We were told my mare had a stone and we got her in as soon as we could, for the surgery that their vet said was needed. I was concerned with my mares health because it had taken a downward spiral and the only conclusion we were given was she had a stone. We made sure to ask for blood work prior to surgery multiple times to make sure she was stable enough for this invasive surgery. On the day of surgery we asked the vet how the blood work and pre-op work-up looked. This vet stated everything looked great and they took her back for surgery...we found out AFTER that this vet NEVER even took blood work and my mare did not even have a stone. My mare had a liver infection (causing her liver to appear big on an x ray). We received no apology from this vet, no acknowledgment, and I get mistakes happen in the medical world but not performing blood work before performing surgery when a client specifically asks is mindblowing... needless to say, had this vet performed blood work (that they should have) we would have taken her home and treated her for her liver condition before ever considering surgery...I am extremely disappointed and really expected to be treated better as a paying client. I felt as though one of the receptionists and some of the interns were nice and respectful of this situation, but the overall experience with this facilities vet was beyond horrible! Not to mention my personal health is not the best so this completely changed my life as well. We are extremely disappointed that the facility itself would allow this and not acknowledge anything that happened.
