My dog is pretty severely dog-reactive and the vets and staff here are always SO understanding and helpful. They not only meet my dog's needs but strive to make her comfortable. They also really care about their clients and always found the most cost-effective solution. My girl was having liver issues and they diagnosed it right away with minimal tests and sat down with me to talk about treatment options. I always walk away feeling well-informed and satisfied with the level of care. Could not recommend more!

Dr. Lafave is the greatest vet. She will care for your pet as if it was her own. She has the knowledge to keep your pet healthy. I have known Dr. Lafave for over a decade at her previous practice and this one and travel to continue seeing her because she is the best. She came highly recommended from her time leading the PAWS trauma unit years ago. When I have taken my dog in for emergency appointments at animal ERs the vets there knew Dr. Lafave. Lastly she is honest and won’t rip you off. She will tell you the situation with your pet and what if anything your pet needs. She is the Walter Payton of vets, true 🐐

I’ve gone to Urban Pet once before for a yearly check up and had a great experience. This time my Strudel had some sort of infection/irritation/cystitis. I had come to the vet two days after she had been having issues and after I had been administering her homeopathic drops (Homeopet, I highly recommend them!). I was in a financially difficult place (the vet bill would have surely overdrafted me) but instead, Dr June made me make the choice whether to do further testing. She was transparent about the possible bill. And she reassured me that the drops could be fine and that I could bring her in within the next few days if she got worse. They gave me some pain pills and we headed home with a much cheaper vet bill AND less anxiety. Strudel recovered the NEXT DAY and has been back to her normal self. I can’t recommend Urban Pet enough. After having so many vets make me feel guilty for certain things or treating me like I didn’t know what I was talking about, Dr June and her sweet team are the go-to Southside vet. It’s just nice to know I can take my strudel somewhere that won’t nickel and dime me but will still offer the best care. 10/10 stars!
