"Muy amables y atienden muy bien ala personas y alos animalitos. Mi boyfriend and I adopted our 2 year old dog from Taps in May of 2024 It was an amazing experience all around. Ellos fueron muy oportunos en responder y ahora tenemos al MEJOR perro del mundo (Mango). My boyfriend and I adopted our 2 year old dog from Taps in May of 2024! It was an amazing experience all around. They were very prompt in responding and we have the BEST dog in the world now! (Mango!) The adoption fee was only $100 (VERY reasonable - I’ve seen other shelters over $500+) which included all his vaccinations/neutering, etc. They also sent us with toys/crate/leash/collar. Super amazing staff. Definitely a wonderful shelter and would recommend!

I’m a little late getting this done, but I can’t say enough about TAPS no kill shelter in Pekin the Staff is absolutely incredible. I adopted a dog after having to wait several weeks so I could see her because she was pregnant and had 12 puppies and so I had to wait until afterwards because they were concerned about her health and the puppies health having people come around them so I waited and called every week and they were just absolutely wonderful. Several things came up after after I took her into foster care and they were right there to help me. I have absolutely no complaints. I think the staff is phenomenal when I brought my dog back with me in the car, they were absolutely wonderful. They came out to see her and pet her and tell me how good she looked. Tori was always there when I called and would help me out with different things in the process of fostering her adoption completed and they were 100% supportive all the way from beginning to end.

Understanding that they probably field alot of inquiries but their communication is not there. It’s sad when shelters mission is to help dogs find good homes but don’t follow through with folks that will give them a loving home. Will be going with another organization ; happy to be helping another dog in need but sad for the dog(s) I could’ve helped here. Point of the review is for others to just be mindful that you may have challenges getting connected with this shelter.

We adopted a puppy from there in 2019. Their application process is a lot but it’s worth it. They want to make sure you get the right dog for your household. There are so many people who jump into adopting with out doing research just to find out they are in over their head. We’ve also contemplated adopting again. We contacted the shelter and the staff was so nice and understanding. We ended up changing our minds and just keeping the animals we had. They kept me informed about the puppy I was inquiring about he ended up getting adopted to a loving home. I found this out from the staff because they were wonderful with communication. I highly recommend adopting from them. Just be patient and lead with your best foot forward. You can’t imagine what they deal with on a day to day basis. Here is our beautiful dog Asher adopted in 2019. He was found with his brothers, sister and mom in a dumpster. That’s what this shelter sees everyday.

I love how much love and care that the staff put into caring for these fur babies! The amount of love and dedication this place has is beyond words. If you are an animal lover, I highly recommend adopting from here! You won't be disappointed!! I adopted our baby and I couldn't be happier!!!

I adopted my boy 4 years ago. He's an 18 lb corgi/pomeranian mix. When I take him places people always comment that he's the most beautiful dog they've ever seen. He's very and furry and his coat shines. He has a curly tail with long, long hair. That hair flows back and forth when he wags his tail. So I'm sure he was the kind of dog every little kid looked at and would go cuckoo over when he was available for adoption. The staff at Taps put me through the ringer and told me every terrible thing that he could do, would do. They told me how much effort I was going to have , as brushing him daily and walking twice a day. They really grilled me and I'm glad they did. I'm sure it would have been very easy for. TAPS to find him home but they wanted to make sure he was going to go to somebody who would care for him despite all the effort. And let me tell you, he's so worth it. I get more than I give. My boy and I are perfectly suited to one another. They did a marvelous job of matching the two of us and we both feel like we hit the adoption but jackpot.

If you need an Pet in the Tazewell County Area, TAPS is the place to go. Taps is a No-Kill Shelter. They take great care of their animals. If you cannot adopt, you can always foster for a while.
