Trish has been my vet for at least 12 years now. We have also had other vets in the practice attend to our herd. I love the reminders they send me, the easy to use perscription line and easy to use vetsource services. They have all given us exceptional care. The office staff is wonderful as well.
Luckily we have only needed to use the emergency services 2 times in the last 10 years. When it's been necessary the vets have compassionately put our older horses to rest.
I feel compelled to speak out on the negative review Rafal has left. He lives near me and I can see how he treats his animals. I would never base anything on his advice, and I would look up his history in Kane and McHenry county court records for how he treats animals and form your own opinion.

0 STARS. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE. THIS IS A PRACTICE THAT WILL DENY SERVICE FOR NO REASON, EVEN FOR EMERGENCY, THEY WILL IGNORE YOUR CALLS AND WONT EVEN BOTHER RETURNING THEM. TERRIBLE SERVICE. NEVER EVER GOING TO RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE TO ANYONE.

We have already notified all of our clients that board horses here on our property to not use their service because they provide horrible service.

We had them come out to see our horses for 2 years and out of no where, they suddenly are denying service from us. I called them multiple times at different occasions to come out to see a horse and they said they are not able to see us without giving any explanation as to why they are denying us service. We contacted them again not too long ago for another horse that is boarding at our house, and reccomneded this practice to the owner. Tried to call them to get him checked out for his first routine visit because he's a yearling, and because he had a bad cut to his face that needed someone to see it in a day or two. Called them, they told me they would call me back with a time. 20 min later they text me (didn't even have the decency to call) to say they have nothing available. I asked if they can check schedule for the next day. They then responded saying they will not be able to see the horse to call another vet, again not explaining why they won't see our horse. There was another time, they did come out but of another client of ours that boards their horse here. I went to check if they can do a mini check up on one of our babies that looked off and had diarrhea for a few days. They were here, and they denied us service and told us to call to make appt. I called and again they said they won't be able to see our horse again with no explanation as to why.

again would give 0000000 stars to this place. terrible equine vet practice.

I have been using Lewis Veterinary Services (Dr Lewis) for the last six months, after nearly ten years of using other practices. For anyone who writes off poor or slow communication as "just an equine vet thing" - reassess your expectations! Dr Lewis is quick to reply to messages, takes the time to discuss with owners what it is she is seeing and why she recommends the treatment/diagnostics she does, and does not automatically jump to the most expensive or intrusive diagnostic and treatment options available. I absolutely would recommend Lewis Veterinary Services.
