I woke up Saturday morning to find our elderly cat in distress. We knew it was time to let him go, but our vet was busy. I called around, to no avail. Finally calling Delphi Animal Hospital. They were full but told me to bring him right over. They were very kind and took gentle care of our baby! There’s no way we could thank them enough! They even put his body in a coffin box. Thank you so very much for helping us and our beloved Boo! If we get another pet, you will be our choice for their care!!

Called 10+ different vets to try to get my cat seen asap. They got me in a little under an hour after calling! Super friendly people, and cares for your pets! They helped me understand what needed to be done unlike some other places I have been to. I love this place for my fur babies and will probably be switching vets soon!

Great people , bad service. & they don’t take you seriously. Had my dogs fecal tested multiple times for them to basically tell me i was crazy and it was just something in her diet.. took her to get her fixed somewhere else & got a call that she had a severe infestation of tape worms. They don’t listen to your concerns. Don’t take your animals here!!!

A friend of mine recommended this vet to me. I'm in the West Lafayette area and not much different in time to get here comparatively to places in Lafayette. The building seemed newer. It was very clean. The techs were very nice in helping me. I just adopted 2 Australian Shepherds and well never really owned dogs. I believe we're doing a good job. Dr. Shannon Sterrett was good at explaining things and what she sees in the future for the dogs. The pricing seemed reasonable from what I'm told from others who have been to other vets.

I cannot recommend Delphi Animal Hospital more. They have excellent care and are affordable. We have a dog who is stubborn and tends to be accident-prone. We have had two incidents where she needed urgent care. When I called, they advised me to bring her in and that they would treat her the same day. They contacted me for approval if there was a need that would be an additional cost, which I greatly appreciated. Then, they followed up a couple of days later to check on our dog. Their care is genuine, and they make us feel valued. I won't take my dogs anywhere else.

I recently took my 5 year old cat for a regular check up/vaccines to Delphi Animal Hospital for the fist time earlier last week, and I had a terrible experience.

Since my cat can get grumpy during vet visits, he sometimes has to be sedated. I knew this going into Delphi Animal Hospital. They ended up sedating him, but he had a very bad adverse reaction - this has never happened before. I understand there are risks with every procedure, but the risks were never communicated to me. Dr. Sterrett mentioned that he would be fine as soon as we got home after the car ride. To my surprise, when we got home his eyes were wide open for about an hour (he wasn’t blinking), he was panting like a dog, and he could hardly walk without stumbling over. It was terrifying. He seemed better that evening but still didn’t eat anything until the next night. The next couple of days after that was eating and drinking mostly fine, but he was still not himself at all. He was very lethargic, and could hardly stand without slumping over. He was just “there.”

Throughout this time, I communicated with the clinic - both on the phone and in person what was happening. These interactions were frustrating and confusing. First, when I contacted them about his eyes and the panting I was told, “he’s probably still feeling some of the sedatives,” and “I wouldn’t worry too much today, he should be feeling like himself this evening/tomorrow.” I then told them about him being lethargic and was told, “None of this is normal,” and “We are happy to take another look at him, but we worry that our attempt will not be successful due to his temperament.” I was also randomly told I could go pick up some anti-inflammatory medication because it could be that he has “underlying orthopedic issues.” However, it felt off to go pick up medication for something that he has never been diagnosed with. Orthopedic issues weren’t mentioned during his checkup at this clinic either - just that he’s overweight (he has a large frame).

The overall vibe I got was that they couldn’t really do much for him over problems that feel as though they started after his appointment. I also felt like they were annoyed because I expressed my concerns on the days following the appointment. One of the receptionists expressed (in an annoyed tone) that, “It doesn’t sound like you want to bring him back in.” Context here: at that point it wasn’t clearly communicated what they would do if I took him back in, that they might not be able to examine him due to his “temperament,” my cat was clearly distressed still, and I was worried that it would make him more anxious, etc.

I didn’t have an issue with this place initially. They seemed kind at first, and the wait time wasn’t long at all. The prices were also affordable. It was the aftermath of the appointment that was extremely disappointing. Proceed with caution if you do take your pets here.
