So, after ignoring my call/voice mail (left after hours Nov 13) both expressing my sincere desire to become an "established client," and giving my name AND phone number not once, but twice - this review is what it took to garner a response from you? Then you have the audacity to chastise ME?!
...wow
*ORIGINAL REVIEW: They came highly recommended by a trusted source... however, when my precious 18 yr old cat had an emergency, they basically told me they couldn't help. I let that go. Fast forward a year and half, my 19 yr old got sick, I got scared, left them a voice mail at night. They never even showed me the courtesy of a call back. That's just disrespectful and unacceptable.
Note: I snapped out of it and tended my 19 yr old, like I have since he was born in my home, and he is fine now! I expect he'll be with me another couple years, bless God - but in the meantime, I'll go to Columbus if we need a vet now.

I accompanied my friend and her grandson on Duke's last day. He was a beautiful and loud and edgy St. Bernard cross they got as a rescue 8 or so years ago. The dog was one to beware of but for some reason he really loved me. In the last 5 years he knew my vehicle sounds and he could smell me outside the house. My friend always knew when I was there because of Duke. He was gravely ill for some time and the vet had tried admirably to restore him. But it was not to be.
Staff was caring and reverent. We were told what to expect every step of the way. We chose to bring the body home for burial. They had a large box perfect for his size. The vet and a helper even carried it to the car.
I could not have asked for a more caring place. We all were bawling with grief. The cost was less than I would have thought. When my Boo's time comes I will consider using this vet.

I trust Dr. Paul and all of his staff to do their best with my pets. I have always been told the reasons behind any care or treatment suggested and offered alternative paths if decisions were needed. He is nearly always available if emergency care is needed. Much appreciated.

Love this place, very affordable. Most of the staff is very friendly, and I got to meet an older lady named Katie there and she's just too sweet. Dr. Rennekamp is very friendly, gentle with your pet and of course extremely knowledgable. Very clean environment and smells pleasant and sterile at the same time, even the entry way with all the poo samples!
I happened to have a bit of car trouble this last visit but Dr. Rennekamp and one of his vet techs came out to help be between clients. So grateful for their efforts and that they still put their patients first instead of focusing on the non-work related task. Very responsible. My mother recommended the Doctor to me 2 years ago and I will continue to recommend him to others.

I have reduced this review to 2 stars. When my 14 year old dog was having an emergency, we drove to Seymour and messaged the emergency number at 5:30am. We were told the doctor wouldn't see her until 7:30 which is 30 minutes before opening for scheduled appointments. We had to drive her to Indy , during which drive she got considerably worse, where we received devastating news and chose to end her suffering. Coincidentally, she had a check up that very same day. I just didn't know the signs of what she was having until it was far too late, it really seemed like a stomach bug. If your baby has diabetes, please do research on ketosis. That knowledge may save their life.

That response was not emergency care. I don't know why he wouldn't see her during his emergency hours and honestly I don't know that I'm capable of caring. In the end I probably would have lost my baby either way, but had he seen her then, perhaps we could have avoided her condition worsening and had her cross the bridge without additional pain and discomfort.

I would still recommend him to people in the area who are doing routine check ups on their babies but not for his emergency services. He's always seemed to really care for his patients, even if he was always a bit rushed, and my girls loved him despite not enjoying the actual exams. I can't say that about any past doctors.

In addition: I have a family member whose dog (13) needed emergency care today and they were told she wouldn't be seen. She will most likely not make it through the night.
