Our vet recommended Stauffer Surgical Center for our baby’s ACL tear. We met with the doctor at Stauffer and they took some X-rays. The doctor didn’t feel comfortable performing the surgery because our dog has a history of seizures and they don’t have meds to treat them if she has one after surgery. He referred us to another surgeon who has a doctor on duty 24/7 in the event she has a seizure it can be treated accordingly. Stauffer surgical center did not charge us anything for this consultation. The doctor was very nice and helpful. Highly recommend this place for ACL surgery.

They deserve a lot more than 5 stars! My dog was referred there for a ccl repair. As they began surgery, she ran into problems with her heart rate. They stopped the surgery and immediately turned their attention to her heart issue. They were able to secure additional diagnostic tests and provided a referral to Purdue’s cardiovascular clinic very quickly. They have continued to call and check on her - before, day off, and after pacemaker placement surgery). I have so much appreciation and respect for the entire team. I’ll forever be grateful.

Our 8 year old Golden was having issues with his back right leg & kept limping to the point where he wasn’t fully using his leg at all. Our local vet recommended surgery & Dr STAUFFER’s staff but I didn’t want to take the plunge initially. I thought we could get him a sling & it would heal on his own (surgery is expensive!). But after going to our consult, speaking with them all & gaining more knowledge, I am so glad we made the decision to go with surgery. Initially we were told his recovery would but 6-12 weeks & while it was hard, on his 6 wk check up we were told he was 100% healed! I couldn’t believe it. With a few more weeks of light walking he was finally free to run on his Dads golf course! Can’t recommend them enough!

Dr. Stauffer is extremely knowledgeable. He explained the operation exactly as it was going to happen. There were no surprises. He also told it like it was....very honest. Emily was very helpful and friendly. You can tell the whole staff treats every customer and animal with care and concern.

I called around to a few places to inquire about TPLO surgery, and Dr. Stauffer was by far the best from the beginning. They answered all of my initial questions when I called and they felt very hands on. We decided to make an consult appointment, and from the moment we stepped in, we were very relaxed and felt well taken care of! Their facility is an hour away for us, but it was by far very worth it.

Our 80lb 5year old Golden Retriever had both of his CCL's torn at the same time, so we were in desperate need of care. Our local Vet had to put our dog under anesthesia just to take x-rays of his legs, which is obviously stressful on the dog and cost me over $300. The Stauffer team was able to carry our heavy dog to their machine in the back and completed all necessary x-rays within 2 minutes and he did not need to be put under. That alone made me feel like we were in true professional hands. They know what they're doing!

With both legs needing fixed, we went one leg at a time and had them done about 4 months apart. It was definitely worrisome to think about how challenging it would be with one leg being operated on while the other leg is still broken and can't support him, but it worked out. By time the second leg got operated on, the first one was in perfect shape to support him. I felt like he was well cared for while he was with them during and after surgery. Someone stays overnight with the dogs, so you don't need to worry. They're also giving medication to relax so it's less traumatic. The Stauffer team was extremely responsive to late night emails when I had questions.

During recovery, we carried our dog up and down a flight of stairs every time he needed to go outside for potty. The hard work on everyone's part paid off, 4 months after his second leg got operated on and he is truly 100% back to normal. We were hoping for an 80% recovery in his usual activities, but he has surpassed that and looks exactly the same as before. He walks faster than us now, runs, plays, hikes, and can go quite a few miles. We did end up buying steps to help him get in and out of the car, not because I feel he couldn't do it on his own, but in hopes that it might keep his legs in better shape for the long term. His personality has blossomed too and he seems so much happier now.

Trust me, the price of TPLO surgery is hard to swallow, but if you're going to do it you should absolutely consider coming to Dr. Stauffer. They didn't ask me to write a review, but I have felt so satisfied with the results and I felt so cared for during the process that I couldn't have imagined taking my dog anywhere else. These people are PROFESSIONALS! They do AMAZING work!

I was referred to Dr. Stauffer by my vet because my dog had become more lame and I was looking for more invasive treatment options. The staff was amazing…great customer service, very efficient and kind. Dr. Stauffer reminded me of a country vet, kind, friendly and no nonsense. He explained all my options and never pushed any particular idea on me but gave me guidance on how to move forward and what to expect for my dog as her condition worsens. I would highly recommend this group for any orthopedic needs.

Our experience with Dr. Stauffer and his team was nothing short of spectacular. When our dog tore a ligament in her knee, we were filled with concern and worry. However, we were greeted with immediate support and a solution back to mobility. Our dog is a bit timid and everyone at the clinic was incredibly patient and heartfelt in their interactions with her. Any question we had was answered quickly by the amazing staff, whether it was Katie, Jordan, Dawn, Selena or another wonderful expert. The surgery itself was remarkable, as the incision healed quite quickly and our pup was back up and moving at the appropriate time. Dr. Stauffer’s experience and detailed approach behind the procedure was second to none. Can’t recommend this practice enough!

They did a very nice job on our Irish Golden’s ACL. The patient cant talk of course, but rehab seems to be going very well. They have been very accommodating through the recovery. Meds prescribed were perfect. Highly recommend Stauffer for your doggy orthopedic needs. We have no complaints!
