I been here a few times and i have no words but Thank you for having people that actually care and love what they do. Ive met many great people here that help veterans in many ways I'm the type of Veteran that once great service has been received i bounce around hoping other VA facilities are the same or provide the same service too everyone you can say im like a secret shopper. Truth is Va only makes changes and improvements if its brought up to the proper chain of command leaving a bad review just discourages other Veterans. So Veterans before leaving a review always consider that . With that said thank you for being available in person or via telehealth and for the classes resources that are provide to us. Go TEAM C

Veterans Affairs like any other hospital, you arrived on time, and the doctor will see you 30 minutes later, and of course, the computers system is out.

Good luck reaching someone. Expect to hold for up to an hour just to have someone disconnect you ? it's been months since I was seen and I'm still playing phone tag with the va to shedule appointments. Despite this location always being a ghost town when I visit its nearly impossible to get appointments at this location, they keep trying to send me to west LA when I live down the road from downtown location. And no it's not because it's the soonest they can see, they just have poor staff who are constantly I'll informed. I showed up for an appointment they scheduled early in the morning. They had me come in before any of the staff, I watched as they showed up for work an hour after they scheduled my appointment. Attempting to receive any sort of service from the VA is a nightmare, extremely unpleasant and inconvenient. It's almost as if it's a game of deterrence.

I've noticed this for years but I've finally decided to write this comment to let other veterans know what is happening at the dtla VA. The check in personnel are manipulating the check in time to delay patients they do not like, usually based on race. When I'm eventually called back in to see the doctor, the doctor mentions that I checked in 15 minutes late when I was actually checked in 5 minutes before my appt time. When I brought this problem up to the patient representative Willie Jean Brister she immediately started attacking me, calling me racist because the entire check in team is black and I'm white. The check in staff is notoriously incompetent but this is a different level of evil. I requested to see the time stamp of when the person checked me in and they immediately refused because that would prove this actually occurring. Hopefully other vets can see this and know they are not cra y and being deliberately delayed by racist staff.

My primary Care Dr Belyeu is the most caring Dr. I've ever had. Has checked up on me on a regular basis. Everyone in the building from the security guard to everyone in the halls were very caring and helpful.
