While the staff at this clinic are polite and the scheduling process is smooth, the veterinary care itself leaves much to be desired, especially given the unusually high costs. During my initial visit, the vet quickly diagnosed my dog’s skin condition as simply due to frequent bathing. However, within two weeks, his condition worsened significantly. When I returned, a different vet immediately identified it as an infection requiring antibiotics, a clear oversight from the first visit.

Their pricing practices are also highly concerning. After purchasing antibiotics, I noticed an unexplained markup and asked for clarification. It took two separate requests before I was informed about a $50 “restocking fee” that wasn’t disclosed upfront or listed anywhere. I’ve never encountered this type of fee at any other veterinary practice, including smaller, locally owned clinics. This lack of transparency creates a sense of mistrust.

Based on these experiences, I would not recommend this clinic to pet owners seeking reliable, ethical veterinary care. Clear communication, thorough diagnostics, and transparent pricing are essential in any healthcare setting, and I found all three lacking here.

A wonderful experience from the moment we walked in and were greeted by both my name and my kitty's name, Scooter. Especially during a stressful situation as even a check-up for my senior kitty, the staff top to bottom was exemplary in our treatment including being prompt, kind, compassionate, and working for our specific needs instead of us feeling like we were being pigeon-holed into a doctor's office schedule. Our new veterinarian, for sure!

Transferred to this VCA from the Wilshire location. This office is new and has a great atmosphere. The front desk, tech and doc were all friendly and welcoming. My pup was sick and the doc fixed the problem without charging me an arm and a leg.

Thank you to the women of VCA for taking care of my fur baby on such short notice. I called this location, because my regular vet was closed, immediately after my dog got an eye injury during a routine grooming appointment and the staff here was super friendly, attentive, efficient and transparent. They were able to see us immediately and took good care of him.

Everyone was very nice but they tried to gouge us with an $800 dollar bill in a very shady fashion, adding extra items onto the bill that were not discussed with the vet.

Be aware that once the vet leaves the room another assistant will return with a tablet listing all the various medications and various add ons without the vet there to guide you through all the medicine names and methodologies previously discussed.

You are then left to uncheck the items you do not want, which is difficult when you aren’t familiar with the medicines. It seemed like they were hoping we would cave and eat the entire bill. Not a fan of this kind of service and it needs to be addressed.

So excited this office has opened in our animal loving neighborhood! And even better the people that work here are beyond wonderful. All true animal lovers.

My dog Charlie is a senior dog, nearly 17, when he needs care it’s generally right away. My first phone call I was greeted with so much warmth and they found time to see me later that day. I brought Charlie in and was welcomed by the kindest staff. I was a bit on edge because my pal wasn’t feeling well but they made me and him feel safe and cared for.

We saw Dr. Martinez, who was so so kind and patient. I’ve never had a vet take time and ask questions like she did to make sure she had all the right information and that Charlie and myself were both comfortable. Charlie had an issue with one of his eyes, and was feeling quite sensitive so i am extra grateful for her patience. She was able to treat him that day with a follow up appointment a week later. His eye looked better the next day and she also gave me a medication for his arthritis which has worked wonders.

In terms of price I felt they were comparable to other clinics in the area, but they have the bonus of an ultra kind, patient and more knowledgeable staff!

I’m so grateful this clinic opened in the neighborhood! If you are a pet owner and are looking for a new vet or a place closer to home I highly recommend the VCA Santa Monica on Main Street. Your pet will thank you too!

Wow! We drove past three or four VCA locations to get to the main street location and I’m so glad that we did. They were able to see us same day when my dog had a UTI. They made special accommodations for my highly anxious dog, and saw us in a private room, not making us go through the lobby with other dogs and people. The doctor and the staff were so accommodating and so kind with my nervous pup. They were even sweet to my two kids who had to come with me due to summer break. We will continue to come to this location! I’m so grateful for Dr. Martinez and the team at the Main Street in VCA!
