REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE.. We took are puppy of 2 months old because he accidentally was pinned under are car wheel and the pressure pushed out his rectum. They told us that he wouldn't survived because his lungs were so bruised and he was so little, the bill was 4,000 to start the surgey and 6,000 to release him the vet kept insisting that euthanized would be a better option.. They performed the surgey he was put on a ventilator the same night, the following day he was breathing on his own the surgey was a success, he was a fighter back to his normal self but the NEGLIGENCE of the staff, vets, specialist, are puppy became positive for the virus PARVO while in their "care" he became real sick and lost a lot of weight. On The six day he was released to us but oh yeah first pay up! That's really what they care for 10,000 woww outrageous we just wanted are puppy to get better specially my kids. "TORO" was not the same they gave us a puppy in real bad shape unfortunately he passed away on the fifth day of been with us the medication did not help.. Are little ANGEL received his wings..

My baby boy, Leroy Jethro, wasn't feeling good I brought him here.

Staff was very wonderful and we're able to explain everything they found. They were very straight-forward and loved on my boy while in their care.

The only downside is the expense. Giving four stars because I wish there was a pricing list on the website to know what the cost could possibly be.

My Boston Terrier Bowie was struggling to breathe during playtime and walks and would often have to lay down to rest after a couple of minutes. Her breathing issues also extended into night time with excessive snorting & snoring often disrupting her sleep. After brining her to our primary vet, it was suggested we see a specialist at VCA for a possible BOAS surgery. We met with Dr. Peacock and he was great! He was kind and straight forward with information. That afternoon Bowie underwent BOAS surgery. I was kept informed by Dr. Peacock and the amazing nurses of Bowie’s progress. They had no problem with me calling to check in that night and were so sweet! It’s been a little over a month and Bowie is doing absolutely wonderful! Her snoring and snorting is gone and her breathing is so much better! She is keeping up with her doggie brother and sister and overall appears to be so much happier! I wanted to thank Dr. Peacock and the nurses again for all of their care! Our experience overall was great and I would recommend Dr. Peacock to friends and family.

We were faced with a very unexpected nightmare situation when my dog was having breathing issues and couldn’t breathe after a grooming appointment. So we rushed her here and I knew immediately she was in good hands. The vet staff was awesome and easily explained everything and were extremely compassionate and understanding. We were obviously a mess because of the unknown and not knowing if our dog was going to live or not. The vet staff here saved my dogs life and I am forever grateful for them. The words and this review can not even explain how appreciative we are. I would have given 5 stars but because of my experience with Janelle at the front desk, her attitude and complete lack of compassion when dealing with our checkout procedure on Saturday, I took a star away. Janelle I hope you never have to go through what we were going through with a pet or someone or something you love and have someone give you an attitude over a silly miscommunication issue when you can’t even think straight because you are going through a traumatic experience. Sorry I might not have understood you the first time but everything was a blur when my dog was unexpectedly hooked up to oxygen and we are being quoted $7000. Sorry Janelle that we ruined your day. I hope the next time you get frustrated working at an ER vet you can remember that everyone is going through something on different levels. A deep breath and a little compassion can go a long way.

I had to bring my Aussie in to be euthanized. The staff made the experience a lot easier than anywhere I've had to take my pups. They had a comfortable dog bed on the floor instead of an exam table. They brought her a bowl full of yummy food and a handful of Oreos. I appreciate their kindness and attention to the dog and owner's comfort during such a difficult time

Brought our dog here 3 times within 4 days. The first vet she saw did absolutely nothing but look at her, feel her belly with his hands, said she looked fine, was walking around and charged us $225. He did no blood tests, X-rays…nothing. Brought her back home and she was still off. She finally drank some water then ate about two hours later.
Second time we went there they did blood tests which showed low platelet levels. No other tests, X-rays, ultra sound. You’d think with low platelets they’d do something else after seeing that, but she wasn’t “too worried” she was losing blood.
Came back here a third time when she went to get water, walked away and was really weak. Finally this time they did more than bloodwork and used an ultra sound. They found a “bleeding mass” in her belly. These crooks wanted $14,000-16000 for a surgery while not being sure if it was cancer or not. Sadly, our dog is now our angel. Really makes me wonder if any of the vets I saw, including at yorkville animal hospital (went in on Saturday morning was told they couldn’t do one until Monday which makes no sense), did an ultra sound things possibly could’ve been different. I wish when she wasn’t feeling good could’ve been during the day so we weren’t forced coming here, although if something happens to my other pets I’ll go to a different 24 hour vet from now on.

I knew before bringing my dog in that things were bad- she had every symptom of internal bleeding and the previous emergency vet wasn't helpful. The staff were friendly, but the park benches in the waiting room were not comfortable at all. Luckily/unfortunately, my dog was bad enough that we weren't on them long.

The vet was very realistic about the options, cost, and chance of survival. Dog had stomach cancer, and there was only a 20% chance chance that she would live another year with surgery and chemo. We asked to take her home for one last night. And the vet gave us some meds to keep her comfortable overnight.

She definitely got worse but I tried to give her a good night before going to her primary vet in the morning to put her down.

This hospital apparently has a social worker, who called to check on us- Which was very sweet but made me break down at work. I appreciate that level of care, though.

My dog Riley was run over by a hit and run driver in the Springfield Illinois country December 2021.. His hip broken and other lacerations that a local veterinarian was able to attend, promptly! It was determined that Riley needed hip surgery. Being that was Christmas and the fact that all the area Vets, UIC and St. Luis were on waiting list.
I contacted VCA Aurora Said bring him in we can help! 175 miles later…The facility was amazing! I’ve never seen a actual animal hospital. If you have not And love your pet . Take a tour ! The Staff was super helpful and concerned about my dog. Dr. Peacock,Riley’s attending ,came out and sat with me. He told me my options, the history of the different options and what he recommended for Riley. Also recommended a lesser cost affordable way. Thank you!
Riley continues to recover at a remarkable pace and Pet owner therapy.
My opinion; VCA did a awesome job at this facility from start to finish! Even after a followup trip and phone contact to see how he is doing. His expected recovery by the way was targeted for July 2022. Riley is almost recovered to full stride as of today! Pics uploaded!

Thanks VCA and Dedicated Staff
