My sweetest furry girl was refused emergent care at VCA Sacramento Emergency Hospital after we called in advance to ensure they had everything needed for a kitty in respiratory distress. We wasted precious time getting to them and they wasted precious time returning her to me from behind their locked doors.

Steven Tarver, DVM was cold and smug when he told me my girl was critical and refused her critical care forcing us to rush to the nearest emergency pet hospital 20 minutes away. Because of this veterinarian’s callous cruelty and intentional incompetence she died in the worst way possible. It was absolutely excruciating to witness.

The only thing I can honestly say I’m grateful for is that she died on my chest, in my arms, absolutely loved every second of her furry little life with me. She was the best furry friend a girl could ever ask for and I’m so thankful for the 10 years I had with her by my side (literally, she was such a snuggler). She deserved a better death and I will miss her for always.

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. He killed my kitten. I took her there last night. She had a temp of 105, her lower eyelids were rising to protect her eyes from the fever and she was listless.

He dx’d her with worms. She has never had worms and she did not show she had worms.

He sent us home with deworming medication.

She died in my bed this morning.

He did not address the fever. Did not ask if I wanted her to spend the night. NOTHING!

We are beyond heartbroken. We had a duty to make sure we took care of her. We did our dead level best. She died suffering from a fever.

I am not through with this “vet”.
