Ah, the post-COVID era—a time when you'd expect businesses to open their doors and welcome clients inside. But not this place! No, they’ve taken the bold step of keeping customers confined to their cars, transforming a routine vet visit into an hour-long tailgate party. Efficiency at its finest.

And let’s talk about the vet—a true renaissance man. Forget caring for animals; he’s mastered the art of greasy salesmanship, peddling unnecessary tests and procedures with the finesse of a used car dealer trying to unload a lemon. My dog had bladder stones, and he graciously offered to *not* perform the surgery—for a mere $5,000. A real bargain compared to the $1,500 I actually paid elsewhere. Who needs competence when you can have a scam?

As for the front desk staffer, her attitude matches her appearance—both dripping with charm. Rudeness has never looked so fitting. Truly, a clinic that sets the bar low and still manages to trip over it.

Our Foster pup, Smokey, is a new patient with Bastet. We’ve had a great experience thus far. We had a brief concern when Smokey weighed in 6 lbs less than his original weight! Had him reweighed with same result. Voice our concern given we have been trying to put weight on…he’s a leggy 8 year old husky weighing in (originally) @ 47 lbs (41 on Bastet) Maybe put a sign by the scale? We were not told the scale was off around 5 lbs (even tho we voiced our concern to gal who weighed him and the vet tech who examined him) When the Vet came in…voiced concern to him and he immediately informed us about the scale. ? That aside, the staff is friendly and helpful! The tech helped get Smokey into car after appt. Small,strip mall location, which I personally like. Don’t feel like you are paying for a fancy facility. Great vibe…obvious the entire staff are animal LOVERS.

WONDERFUL love the service here and absolutely love my pets VET he was amazing and attentive very throughout and thoughtful got my old dog feeling a million percent better in a week! Please come here and see him. Your doing your animals a dis service if you do not take the time. It’s actually a pleasant experience. Dr Girgis! Dr. Girgis is so caring and professional. He is thorough and has always given little Addy the best of care. Also his staff is 100% professional and kind. This vet is El Cajon's little gem which I highly recommend!

I took my eight-year-old dog in for a teeth cleaning. It turns out she had to have two teeth pulled and five teeth filled. The staff was knowledgeable and efficient. I cannot describe you how bad her breath was prior to this. This procedure was four days ago and she is now back to herself - being a silly goofy little girl. And her breath is wonderful!

At Bastet, they have taken care of us and we appreciate it. They have shown care and expertise for our animals. We started going to Bastet during 2020 when we had urgent needs for our dog and no one else would see her. Other vets tripled prices and had almost no hours or closes completely. Instead, they devised a system of having you wait in the car and calling in, then they come get your pet and you do the paperwork from the car. It works well and they are still doing it. You can go in if needed. I feel like this office is run how vets used to run before corporations ran many into the ground. It doesn't look great from the outside, but it's the people who are great. They respect our time, budget and pets. They are the good guys.
