Our boxer bit a bee and of course got bit back. She is acutely allergic to wasp/bee stings so initially there was swelling. Then the hives and within 30 minutes her entire face and head was swollen. Gave her 2 benedryl to get her down the hill, from VC to Escondido. It was only 6pm so it wasn’t busy in the office but I think the risk of her throat closing up they got her in ASAP and on a IV of 2 medications. Within 30 minutes the swelling looked much better and we were on our way home. It’s been 2 days now and she is back to her old self.

Just a heads up for other pet parents. I have seen these after hours vet clinics packed. A dozen pet parents waiting and a few hour wait should be expected if not an extreme emergency. The vet/tech will make a good judgement on who is seen first. While I was there a pet parent who was asked to wait 30 minutes, got mad and left.

I would highly recommend them for your fur babies?

We moved here a few months ago and had yet to establish vet care. Unfortunately our elderly cat (17.5) declined suddenly. I brought Grace Anne to Urgent Care and they were so warm and helpful at a very difficult time. They guided us through end of life care for our Grace Anne. If they can handle such a tender situation with a stranger that well, I have no hesitation in recommending them for all other care.

The staff at Animal Urgent Care were fabulous and very calm during our pet emergency. Our dog ate rat poison in the desert. We called them to let them know we were on our way (2 hr drive). They are one of the only 24 hour Vet ER facilities available! The staff was ready for us when we arrived. The Veterinarian Dr. O'Hara was very personable and caring and took good care of our dog during our visit. We were lucky our dog was able to go home that night and he is doing well. Thank you Animal Urgent Care team for treating and saving our dog!

We had such a positive experience with Animal Urgent Care! When our dog ingested a toy, they saw him immediately with care and love. They were extremely transparent about the pricing. Upon picking him back up after surgery the next night, the technician’s customer care was excellent. They took the time to explain follow up care in a very thorough manner. We are so appreciative for their help and support.

Escondido Urgent Care has top notch veterinarians and staff that have diagnosed and treated my pets over the years. Recently, when my puppy ate something toxic, I rushed her there. I had complete confidence in knowing their team would administer proper and prompt treatment to provide her the best possible health outcome.

We have used animal urgent care several times. They always do an excellent job our mini gold doodle, swallowed a screw and they took x-rays and didn't see anything to be alarmed about. They were very prompt with the service they gave us and our dog. I would highly recommend.

My wife was recently walking our two small dogs when they were viciously attacked by an off-leash dog. Both were torn up badly; the smaller one suffered a broken leg and fractured rib... and we almost lost her. Thank God for Animal Urgent Care. They leapt to action when we entered the clinic, watched the dogs overnight, and have provided quick and attentive after care for them both. We credit the team there with saving our precious pups. In all the confusion and our many visits we have not captured the names of everyone who helped us... but they have all been wonderful. Special thanks though to Jessie, Casey, Brittany, Dr. Maiello and Dr. DeLorenzo. I don't think they could have given our dogs better care if they were their own.
