Brought our pup here this weekend and had a great experience. The team was fast and efficient but did not sacrifice kindness and concern. We even received a check up call the following day to see how our pup was doing. Really appreciate the customer service and the care they provided for us! 10/10!

It's not typically a good day when you find yourself at an urgent care for your furry friend but I'm so thankful for the team at Urgent Veterinary Care! I'd heard great things about them from the local dog community but hadn't had the "opportunity" to go myself until just recently when my pup had an allergic reaction.

Everyone was extremely friendly (my dog liked everyone as well), their team presented me with several options for care plans, information on what good/negative indicators would look like as he recovers, and they got us back on our way quickly! I hope that I don't reason to visit again soon but I'm glad to know that my pup will be in good hands if/when the time comes for another surprise vet trip 🙂 Thank you all again so much -Baloo <3

I brought my cat Pinky in today - a Saturday - because she was no longer eating or even able to stand up. She had feline kidney disease and was 15. This Veterinary clinic is SO WONDERFUL and so needed in Santa Barbara. The Vet was also wonderful, kind and caring. The staff is also excellent and knowledgeable. The facility is super clean and in conveniently located. I am so GRATEFUL a friend recommended it. Their pricing was also very reasonable. I will take my other pets there for care - this place was a breath of fresh air!!

I am GRIEVING THE LOSS OF MY FABULOUS DOG WHO DIED FIVE DAYS AGO. Two months ago your wife said I should let her put him down he had no quality. That was her and clearly your opinion that was inaccurate since like you said it was over two months ago and you don't know my dog. You claim that your only interaction was when I left with my dog. That is not correct. I was standing outside waiting and was going to get coffee across the street at handlebar when you addressed me and told me not to leave. Read below.

This clinic would not address his low blood sugar that day mitigated with honey and his regular vet on Monday am. Dan Crawford stood outside this clinic while his wife did the blood work GLARING at me in his baseball cap and told me he Felt SORRY For My DOG. I did not misunderstand the judgemental tone or his angry body language. I had no idea who he was or why he was being so aggressive and nasty towards me

Shame on you. My dog overcame horrible things done to him and not by me. He felt out of an unlatched oxygen crate in March in a 10k a day ICU unit and was unable then to walk with the right side of his body. I got him a cart and did recumbency care. Your wife told me to euthanize him since he was comatose. Yes as a diabetic I can attest when your blood sugar dog or human is 53 you are going to be comatose. I should know. Foxy Buddy was my DIABETIC ASSIST DOG after my downtown neighbor gassed us high with illegally obtained restricted use agent orange. He woke me at 3 am when mine was 39 and my meter took 10 more mins to go off. He saved my life why would I not save his?

His forensic necropsy has been very telling. I got the preliminary today. You should be ashamed at what you said to me and now after less than a week of my Dog's Death you post this response. Foxy Buddy lived 9 months longer than anyone but a few of his fabulous vets who actually gave him care when he needed it unlike your clinic. He has a lot of people rooting for him. This is my honest and accurate review. I have a lot of disabilities that impair me. but my review is 100% accurate I did not misunderstand you. My realtor is a great man. He has been supportive throughout all the fight I had to wage to get supportive care for my Dog. He was on team Buddy to the very end. I begged for supportive care and I was turned away and you were nasty to me about my dog on top of it.

Foxy Buddy deserved better. As long as he was willing to fight I was willing to fight for him. Your clinic sent me off and said he was a goner and I should let them put him down.

What happened to my dog was horrifying and ever single person that has been on this journey with me knows that. I got no support from your business and nastiness from you to boot. I am happy to elaborate more once I get the rest of Foxy Buddy's stuff in order like getting his ASHES BACK from his Forensic Necropsy. I have worked hard in SB as well. I don't appreciate the lie. You wished me nothing but ill will as they gave me back my dog and said move on. He's dead now. He was fearless, a gentle soul, he saved my life and no thanks to you still lived a couple more months past a low blood sugar that day.
My cousin wrote the United States Constitution.I have a right to free speech. This is my accurate and honest review and I will not be bullied to take it down either. I am happy to post in in other places as well but I have a lot of things to do now and things to file. My dog, my family my best friend and service dog DESERVED BETTER

Second rebuttal. Now this nasty pc of work is back blathering on. He refused to help my dog. YOUR wife who is the vet REFUSED to treat my dog. Your wife wanted to kill him. His blood sugar was so low he was near shock. SHAME on you.You were RUDE to me and said exactly what is in my review. Honey brought up his sugar to normal in an hour. He did not need a specialty hopsital. You said you FELT SORRY FOR YOUR DOG. Shame on you for lying 100% correct. He needed dextros and as you say you are not vet. Your wife is. She should have given him detrose

UVC was able to see my dog promptly when we brought him in for a suspected intestinal blockage.

The staff were helpful and kind, and the veterinarian who came in to speak with us after his intake took the time to explain our options (x-rays vs fluids and observation), as well as providing her recommendation when we asked for an opinion. When we did proceed with x-rays, they were evaluated by a radiologist within an hour and our dog ended up needing to be transferred to a 24 hour facility with an ultrasound and operating veterinarian. They called ahead and were able to direct us to a clinic that had availability to treat him that evening, so we could get him help immediately, and they sent over his x-rays as well.

We're grateful to have a new emergency vet near our house, and would bring our dog in again if we needed to- though hopefully we won't!

When I first came to this center I was so happy, the service seemed to be exquisite. But across visits there was some kind of attitude that developed and then finally it became clear to us that they didn't care for my pet and all they were interested in was money. They feigned empathy very well for a while but their true character was revealed. Stay away from this place if you care for your animals long term health and your sanity.

Important Notice: Updated Review
If you are considering this establishment, please read my experience thoroughly. The owners have chosen to respond to my concerns with half-truths and dishonesty instead of addressing the issue with integrity. Their response only reinforces my conclusion: they prioritize money over genuine care for pets and their owners.
Addressing the Owner’s Response:
1. Prescription Refill Issue:
o When I initially visited UVC for my pet's prescription, they informed me that other vets in the area were not taking new patients, effectively tying my hands. When I called for a refill to bridge the gap until I could see a regular vet, they insisted on an additional visit and fee.
o They claim it had been "so long" since my last visit. In reality, it had only been just over one month since my last visit, during which my pet received a 30-day prescription. For a chronic, lifelong condition, this is not an extended period. Their refusal to refill the prescription without another visit is not only unethical but also absurd.
2. Receptionist and Doctor Communication:
o Contrary to their claim, the receptionist did ask the doctor about refilling the prescription. I was informed that I would need to bring my dog in for another visit.
3. Owner's Involvement:
o The response to my review came from the owner's husband, who does not work at the clinic. His involvement and attempt to dismiss my concerns by implying I misunderstood their role as a veterinary center (as opposed to a pet store) is demeaning and highlights their disconnect with customers.
Additional Points:
• The owners frantically called me and my wife multiple times without ever offering a solution to write the prescription.
• I have since found a licensed veterinarian in California who provided an online consultation and prescribed the necessary anti-seizure medication with four refills.
• Given their prioritization of profit over care, I stand by my original review. I cannot trust the treatment my dog would receive at this facility.

I don’t have a normal vet in the area so I was happy there was an urgent care available. Everyone working there was so nice, kind and understanding. The place was really clean. My dog was having some coughing, vomiting, and number three. They wanted to do bloodwork and X-rays. We choose to only do bloodwork and 20minutes later we got the result- thankfully everything came back normal. We held off on the X-rays since the blood work was fine. Few days later my dog started to improve but I needed some advice on the lack of appetite, so I called the office and they walked me through some things I could do. Just having reassurance is so comforting sometimes. Very happy with this place and every caring soul that works there. ❣️With the visit fee & bloodwork we spent $550. X-rays would have been another $600. Just to give you an idea of what it might entail with your visit.

Had such a great experience getting care for our cat here when she got an abscess today. They offered a reasonable price compared to other urgent care vets in town. Staff was friendly. Thank you!
