I had scheduled an appointment for 3 animals. I unfortunately tested positive for Covid and I had to cancel the original appointment. I called as soon as I found out and I was seriously feeling horrible. We scheduled a new appointment and I wrote down the date and time.

I arrived an hour before scheduled, and they were closed for lunch. The base had put out a notice that there could be delays because of exercised drills. I wanted to make sure, I would not get delayed at the gate.

Once they opened, we walked in and I was immediately told, I was banned for a year, because I had missed three appointments. I immediately said; "no, I had Covid, you can't be serious?" The young lady said; "no, it's not from that appointment, it's your appointment for today." I was very confused. She tried to explain, my appointment was at 1100 and I told her no, it was at 1300.

I then asked; "how is that considered missing 3 appointments?" She stated I had 3 animals and therefore, it was considered 3 missed appointments. I replied back; "are you serious, how can that be?" She said; "that's our policy."

I then asked to speak to her higher up. The veterinarian, who had been listening came out from the back, I could see that he was standing in an office and had been listening. He was very matter of fact, and ended up telling me, he was going to run his facility as he saw fit.

I tried to explained that there had to be a breakdown of communication and I would not deliberately miss an appointment. I also explained my roommate took off from his command, to help me with 3 pets. It's not an easy task, getting them all in the car. Why would he take time off, if the appointment was at 1100?

I asked how could I make a complaint and he scribbled a name and number to his boss in San Diego. I left really upset and called his boss immediately. He told me he would get back to me and as of to date, no one has called me back.

I tried to do an ICE complaint, but on the NAS Lemoore website, it wouldn't let me choose the vet. So I did a generic complaint, putting everything in writing, and I still haven't heard from anybody.

This is unacceptable. I understand there are folk that are considered no shows, but each situation should be looked at individually. I was never told that one appointment would be considered 3 appointments, because of 3 pets.

I am having a hard time finding a vet that is close to Lemoore. I would like to continue to use the vet on base, because it's the only vet our husky and one of our cats has ever used. This is ridiculous.
