We always have a great experience at Modern Animal and this location was no exception. They are friendly, warm, and make sure to take their time with each animal and their parents which we appreciate. Not having to worry about keeping records ourselves and knowing that we have them available 24/7 is great. My only complaint is that their urgent care availability is often limited and often - unless you book it early in the morning -you’ll be directed to the ER or another urgent care which defeats the purpose!

Modern Animal ignored our request to biopsy a mass and my dog passed because of their negligence.

Our husky, Xerxes, had a large mass the size of a golf ball on his elbow. They said it's probably due to the elbows being on a hard floor and not to worry unless it gets bigger or if it's uncomfortable for him.

It got bigger to the size of a large softball within a few months. We repeatedly asked them for an exam to make sure it's not cancerous. They said it wasn't necessary and it was likely still just an elbow sore. We trusted them. A month later, his skin was ripping apart due to the size of the mass and was bleeding and full of puss.

We took him to a different vet hospital who quickly did some tests and confirmed it was cancer and his entire leg needed to be removed and it is possible that it had spread to his body at this point.

They asked us why we let it get so bad, and we told them Modern Animal said he was fine. We removed the leg but Xerxes eventually passed due to the cancer spreading from his elbow.

His death could have been prevented if Modern Animal took us seriously!

I will never trust Modern Animal again.

These people are despicable and don’t care about animals. I called to request my records for my dog who had an emergency and they refused to give me them even after I provided proof of ownership. They said because my dog was under my ex wife’s name the could refuse to give me them. Can you imagine that they are in the business to care for animals and did such a horrible thing? I had to hire a lawyer and I finally have my records but there’s no way I’m letting it end here. These people do not deserve to be in business or to be trusted with anyone’s pet.

I’ve been having a membership here for 4 years.
4 years ago , they recommended all sorts of unnecessary vaccines and unfortunately I followed all of the recommendations which made my dog very sick at the time. This year, when they again recommended vaccines, I mentioned that my dog suffered seizures and allergic symptoms after vaccinations last time and expressed that I wanted to skip them. They responded strangely, saying it’s uncommon and treating me like a strange person. They need to understand that every dog is different.

Updated Review- I’m updating my review because the CEO of this company called tonight to thoughtfully address what happened with our pup today. He didn’t disagree that trying to draw blood for two hours on our pup created a lot of fear in a “fear free” environment.

We will not know next steps until tomorrow and we may not stay with Modern Animal if they can’t draw blood on our dog without sedating her, but his time and kindness mattered a lot.

Customer service around fur babies, agree or disagree, should look like this!

Paid the membership fee to bring one of our dogs here because despite being treated for C Diff, she has consistent diarrhea and/or loose stool (very unusual for her). Met with tech and vet and went over next steps. Needed to do blood work, urine, feces, etc. No problem. You'd think! This facility could not figure out how to draw blood on my 43 pound non aggressive but super squirmy deaf dog. THIS has NEVER been an issue. She gave blood elsewhere two weeks ago with NO issue. During the process of trying to get her blood, my pup scratched my arm pretty bad. I had to ask for something to wipe the blood and wasn't even given a bandaid (I left actively bleeding). The solution, give her Trazadone and bring her back tomorrow. I made it CLEAR that my dog gets hyped up on Trazadone. But the vet apparently told the tech it has to be Trazadone. The whole INEPT visit had me so anxious that I just paid (for services not yet done) and left. I'm not giving her the damn Trazadone and cannot believe I tolerated a vet that can't get blood from a dog. The app is trying to find someone to contact me, but they have limited staff.

I'm honestly FURIOUS and the vet never even came back in the room (we were there for hours).

It may look nice, but skills and competency matters!

We LOVE Modern Animal! Best experience ever, and the free exams as part of the membership fee is too good to be true when you have a massive puppy! We also love coming to the vet for “happy visits” 🙂

So lucky to be a member here! This is the vet of the future. The app is outstanding. It is so nice to be able to chat with a vet, send pictures and get such a swift response. Refilling prescriptions and booking appointments is a breeze. I hope modern animal expands to other states. They have the blueprint that all pets and pet owners deserve.
