We have been taking our pets to the OVC since 1993! Dr. Schwartz was the best vet we have ever known. We moved to Riverside in 2021 and even though we have plenty of vets there, nothing compares to this clinic. Even though Dr. Schwartz has retired the place has the same vibe and continues the legacy! In addition to great vets, they have the best dental care for your pet, non-anesthetic procedure that does the job. Our last experience was superb and we will definitely be back.

Wonderful vet clinic! The staff is always so kind, every single one of them is superb! Lulubean loves coming here ( sorta). We see Dr Kim Bhuta ( she is the Queen of Vets, very kind, knowledgeable beyond anything or anyone I’ve ever seen Medical wise).

My Lulubean gets anesthesia-free cleanings every 3 month, nail cutting every 1 month or so. This place is great! I know the people who work here love animals as much as I do!

Dr. Goetz is outstanding!!! From overall knowledge to bedside manner, her caring nature shines through. We feel so confident trusting her with our Cavalier. The techs have been stellar, and the front desk is both awesome and efficient! (If parking is ever tough, we recommend using a side street. Oliver loves taking the scenic route in his stroller).

*update* they wouldn’t even refill my other dogs flea medicine!
I used to bring my dogs here and I’ve always trusted them. I should’ve known something was different when the dental prices change from around $700/1000 to $3000!
They were kind and let me bring in my dog who was having a pancreatitis attack which I was not aware of at the moment, I just knew she had been sick for two days. the vet gave me Flagyl for diarrhea,& anti-nausea medication. My dog began exhibiting symptoms of neurotoxin poisoning , when she started having twitches and drooling, & eventually her back legs wouldn’t work anymore. This was only after four doses of the medicine I was supposed to give her for 7 days. She began having bad seizures and initially I thought it was just her decline from the pancreatitis attack but then I reread the flagyl side effects in the very last sentence says it will cause seizures & some dogs and wobbling and it’s a Nuro toxin. As soon as I realized, I called the vet and rushed her in to have the antidote given to her. The vet denied it could be poisoning from the medicine. After a lengthy lecture of all the test I should be doing for my dog who was clearly dying at that time I begged her to please give her the antidote shot which was essentially Valium. My dog did much better that day. She was awake alert. She had one more decent day of life, and when I asked the doctor about when this medicine wears off, she said well then it would be something else and not the Flagyl, because that only lasts for eight hours in the body. After doing my own research it last 24 to 36 hours in the body so she was completely wrong! A simple search showed me that. She wouldn’t give me any follow up medication to help my dog & insisted that she have labs and tests to run even though they couldn’t show anything conclusive at this point when my dog was about to die. I called the next day & asked for suppositories or another shot, because my dog begin having seizures again as soon as the first shot wore off, they refused. Again, denying it was toxic exposure to this drug that She had prescribed for seven days for my 4 pound dog to take, who had kidney disease. I asked her if it was safe!!. By the way, she charged me another $100 ! to see her for her to lecture me about all the tests & labs I needed to get my dog when I just wanted her to have an antidote shot.. I had seen her less than a week before.
My dog died yesterday morning.

This is NOT the same hospital that I used to come to. It’s a money pumping machine. I agree with other people who have left one star reviews.
I don’t know why the doctor couldn’t believe that she was poisoned by this neurotoxin medicine when my dog exhibited all of the symptoms written on the labels warnings. After my dog died, I began researching Flagyl and how it’s not supposed to be for veterinary use, but is used anyway. Many people’s dogs have died & had seizures taking this medication. My dog did have this before & did perfectly fine, but it was only one dosage that they gave her, for some reason this doctor thought it was OK to give my little tiny dog a whole week worth of this toxic, horrible medicine. She NEVER told me to watch out for the effects that might happen to her, neither did the pharmacy that made the medicine for my dog. I am so so disappointed & so heartbroken because my dog could’ve survived the pancreatitis attack, but I’ll never know. I do know for sure she was poisoned by the flagyl this doctor prescribed her. As her mother I should’ve known not to give it to her after she began drooling after the 2nd dose and twitching, but I kept giving it to her and now she’s dead. She wasn’t even 10 years old. I so wish I had taken her somewhere else, but this is where I have been coming for years & I thought the care and the Dr.’s were the same. Even though the doctor was very nice, I think she’s very ill informed to think this medicine which has poisoned & killed so many dogs is OK to give out like candy without expressing the dangers to our animals. I miss her so much. 🙁 truly devastated

Gigi was scratching and shaking head and ears bright red. Dr Jones said Clip all the hair away from ear and clean it with ear solution and put in ear antibiotics. Gigi is feeling much better. We love Dr Jones! Been going to him for over 20 years with all my animals. I don't trust anyone else with my babies.

I made my second visit to this clinic with my cat. This is also our second with Dr. Goetz. She is amazing with cats. She has very calming and sweet interactions with them and my cat is starting to trust her because I do. Both times she recommended perfect treatment plans and my cat is her healthiest self. The techs at the desk are always very helpful as well. I haven’t had a long wait room time with an appointment.

I’ve been searching for a new Veterinary Clinic that was closer to where I live. I have an older dog that I cherish, and I wanted to find someone knowledgeable and compassionate. I can’t believe the good fortune that I have had in finding Overland Veterinary Clinic. The girls at the front desk are so friendly and helpful. The place is so clean And the furniture so practical and aesthetically, beautiful, and the best thing of all is that it doesn’t smell like other veterinary centers. With that horrible like rancid fruit aroma from disinfectant. What a fantastic place. The vet that we met with was just brilliant. One by one she crossed off deep concerns I had about issues with my dog. She knew exactly what was going on. I feel so much better now. I am so glad I found this place. A wonderful place where there is respect and honor given to animals as they deserve.
