I brought my 3 year old Dogwood Rescue dog to Dr. Capurro today for a check up and vaccine. Our first visit as we transferred from another practice. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and had a terrific experience. My dog is sometimes wary of strangers but she was made to feel very comfortable and all went well. No surprise that Township was voted BEST IN SONOMA COUNTY! And we appreciate the support they give Dogwood Rescue!

2 stars instead of 1 only because of the vet tech who took my dog's initial vitals. She is a natural with animals. The rest of the experience was not positive and we will not be back. Below are my complaints backed by facts:
- We were at this office for over 45 minutes before my dog was offered even one of the four vaccines that she needed.
- Before arriving I had confirmed that all of her previous records from Animal hospital of Cloverdale had been sent over, but when we got there they did not understand any of the records and it created a lot of confusion. They had NO idea what vaccines she needed. I had zero issues with the previous vet, but wanted to find something closer to my current residence as I moved to Windsor last year. Eventually I was able to locate the records on my phone, as I had uploaded it to the kennel where she is going to be boarded soon and emailed it to them. My conversation with the Doctor regarding her records was very strange as she brought up stuff from 6 years ago, mentioning that she may not have completed her puppy shots? She had of course, and then the Doctor also mentioned that she was bathed during one of her previous vet visits which never occurred. This was the beginning of the end regarding our comfort level there.
- Also odd was the Doctor completely lacked confidence with my dog. This is a 6-year-old dog who has never shown any aggression to people (other than barking when stressed) or other dogs, and only has some anxiety with being at a vet office. There is no exam table here! When the Doctor entered the room, my dog was on my lap and she began trying to do the exam which was awkward so I put my dog on the floor. She kept instructing me to do various physical things to my dog so she would be comfortable examining her (move her head this way...move this body part that way). At one point she kept saying "don't look at me, don't look at me" to my dog which was very stressful.
- Other employees entered the room at various points without actually doing anything. One of the receptionists kept banging on the door anytime she wanted to enter which added to the anxiety. My dog is not concerned about being walked in on naked or undressing so you don't need to knock on the door ?.
- We left after getting 1 vaccine (the only one I had to get that day) instead of four. I relayed my experience to a friend who works at another vet office and she confirmed that this is unprofessional conduct.

I absolutely love this vet. They always take care of my baby and are so sweet & flexible. I also admire them for their work with Dogwood Animal Rescue.

Very sweet staff. I brought my long-haired chihuahua here for a visit. It had been a while she saw a vet and I was very pleased with the skill and compassion of the vet. The vet answered a bunch of questions I had on the health of Rosie and general questions on how to take good care of a dog. Rosie was comfortable and got a great check up. We got a microchip, general check up, and a bath. She is a few pounds overweight so we are working on losing a few pounds. The vet said we could come in anytime no charge to weigh here when we feel like it. The place is clean and easy parking and reasonable priced.

Edit 12/26: We are moving vets. This place has become highly disorganized, the staff have been giving wrong information & front desk people seem to keep changing and are clueless. When you walk in the front desk will ignore you as you have your pet in hand and take a while to even acknowledge your presence. I no longer trust their word. They also made a big mistake on our vaccination records.

I like the personal care the staff gives to every pet owner and their pet. I like being able to stay with my dog during the appointment with his vet and not just dropping home off and having him in a cage all day until the vet has time for him.

Previously wrote a 5 star review but have to update. Twice over the last month have tried to reach out with issues regarding our pups and immediate needs. Both times was told it is 3-4 weeks to get in and to go to an emergency vet. Apparently, they are down to one doctor so are unable to see patients. Liked Dr. Capuro, but wasn't a fan of the other vet before this. Don't know which one is left, but this practice has gone severely down hill.

Wow what a sweet team! Everyone we encountered was friendly and informative! We went there because we adopted our puppy from Dogwood and this was where they set us up for neuter and if you know Dogwood they are all about quality! Thank you everyone for taking care of our new family member!❤️
