Lists inaccurate dog breeds. We brought a mutt we found and they listed him as a german Sheppard. We had given a name to that poor dog and he had started reacting to his name the time we took care of him, I did tell the shelter but they still gave him another name. Also they say "unknown" for spayed/neutered but it's actually very easy to know.

When you truly care about animals, you don't give a dog that's already anxious and confused ANOTHER NAME after a whole family cared for that dog and gave him a cute name.

Our 13 yr old Terrier Mix received excellent care at this facility. Even after being discharged the next day we received calls a couple of days later asking how he was doing. We appreciate everything all staff members did for all of us and highly recommend Lancaster Animal Care Center at Ave M (Columbia Way) & 10th St West for all Veterinary needs.

I found a stray cat in our backyard buried under leaves under a bush on Friday that I have seen in the neighborhood for a while and learned that the owner died a year ago,it was clear that something was wrong with it so I got it out from under the bush and called you guys,I spoke to a nice woman who told me to bring the cat in,I believe that her name was Penny,I got the cat in my car as it was barely moving,as soon as I got there a woman came out and asked me what the problem was and I explained to her what I explained to the woman on the phone and she told me to hold on,the cat got scared as it heard dogs barking and freaked out when she came back with a box that she shoved it in and told me the cat was fine and that nothing was wrong with him and that they don't keep wild cats,I decided to take the cat home where it continued to lay lifeless in our home,it was then that I noticed something was wrong with his head,I checked behind his ear and found a hole behind his ear as if he had been shot,I immediately washed the area and put neosporin on it and gave the cat doxycycline,he seems to be doing much better but it looks like something is lodged in there, not sure what it is because no one there checked it out,the cat is walking and eating now and hopefully will live,I don't advise taking sick animals to this place as they didn't seem to care,I was told not to go to this location if this ever happens again and to make the drive to the Palmdale location as they care about stray animals, the photo attached clearly shows that something was wrong

Took me an hour to try and find a good number for them, never got it. Worst costumer service ever to try and adopt an animal when they don’t even have a legit number!!!

Reason I rate a 3 star is because this is a high kill shelter. This is due to irresponsible pet owners who fail to care for them, dump at shelters, or abandon on the streets. I give all the people who I became in contact with who work here 5 stars. They are professional, caring, and compassionate. Thank you!
To all the beautiful animals that are in shelters...I'M SORRY YOUR HUMAN so-called Family has FAILED YOU!

The county needs to hire more people. The staff are very over worked. I'm a disabled military veteran. All I wanted to do, was pay the annual registration fee for my furry friend. It was a FULL hour before I was able to pay. No chairs. Nowhere to sit. It was excruciating. I was keeled over from the pain. No staff asked if I was alright or not. I was in so much pain just standing there. This office sorely needs more staff. An hour wait just to pay some money? That is absolutely unsatisfactory and unacceptable.

These are beautiful dogs. Most of them are big dogs but just bc they're pretty doesn't mean they don't bite. Some of them seem aggressive but some don't. The cats are a little bit meaner than some of the dogs bc they clearly seem like they love to scratch. One of the dogs looked like their nails needed to be cut. They were too long but a lot of them are sweet, you just can't be afraid of these dogs. I don't know what to say about the employees tho just that one of the dogs looks like a working dogs but it said that it was a pitbull but it's not a pitbull. Sometimes the cages don't look too clean but I'm sure the employees clean it.
