Well, life is a blessing. I admit that we enjoyed many years with the quality care from Dr Ecklund and Dr Schmidt. Very sad to see them no longer running this facility. In fact, neither work there. I wish the new owners would have been honest with us months ago when we kept calling for an appointment.
Well, wherever these Drs go we will follow. They are the best! Great people and excellent Drs.

Now we are looking for a new clinic, not interested in the new ownership here. ?

I have been a client of Southside Animal Hospital for over 3 decades and had total confidence in all 3 vets there, Doctors Eklund, Schmidt, and Brandville. I have recently had my first experience with the new vet, Doctor Rosenauer.

Our doggie was very receptive to Dr Dan's gentle, professional manner. We humans were also pleased with this "new to us" vet. Dr Dan treated our doggie thoroughly, explained everything to us, and answered all our questions. We completed the prescribed course of home treatment and had our follow-up appt. Our doggie has recovered; she is happy, we are happy and satisfied and feel with have found a competent and responsive vet, Dr Dan, to take over from our previous wonderful vets.

The office staff and tech staff were both friendly and efficient, as well.

I love Southside Animal Hospital! My dog and cat have been patients there for over 10 years and I wouldn't change a thing. I've owned pets for 40 years so have a lot of other experience. The vets and the techs are skilled and care truly about my pet's welfare. The front staff are efficient, friendly and kind.

My family had to put down our 17 year old Pom. The staff at this clinic were absolutely amazing and kind to her. They treated her with dignity until the moment she passed, and they gave her the most gentle and BEST CARE. They didn’t spare any treats or pets. They also gave us so much time with her and even let us tell them when we were ready. they never pushed us or hurries us. They continuously asked us if we wanted more time. They also explained everything that was going on. I am so grateful we went here. We are heartbroken, so being around people who are genuinely kind and understand made it a little less painful.

They have been my vet clinic for over 25 years and 4 pets. They are compassionate and helpful. My Louie 12.6 yrs old just passed a month ago and his cremation was handled here, along with my new rescue puppy of 10 wks. Thank you to all the Dr's and staff. I also appreciate the follow-up calls on my pets. You can't go wrong coming to Southside!

I have a large breed dog that I rescued from the municipal pound. I was told face to face by the vet that she recommended having him neutered at 1 year or older or if he exhibits negative behaviors. My dog is not exhibiting any of the warning signs. But they refuse to offer a letter to the Muni stating that they recommend delaying neutering. I'm all for getting the procedure done at a later date. But the harm that would be caused to my dog long term by neutering early according to all the research I've done would affect his long term health. I do not understand why they would say that the procedure would be harmful yet refuse to back that up with a letter to the muni confirming what that have told me face to face. I have lost any confidence that I had in the organization that they actually want the best for the animals in their care. It is disgusting to me that they will tell me one thing face to face but will not back up what they know to be true.
Dishonest, deceitful, and more concerned about their organization than the health of your pet. Do not trust them to provide care for your furry children.

I have been with Southside Animal Hospital for 25 years. I have owned multiple Golden Retrievers and house cats, I raise Golden Retriever puppies and foster cats and kittens for a local nonprofit rescue organization.....I probably frequent the clinic more often than the traditional pet owner.
The entire staff at SSAH is very professional, honest, caring and goes above and beyond to provide the best care for all my animals.
I highly recommend SSAH to any pet owner. I would give the 10* if I could 🙂

Dr. Dan was awesome- he was very thorough explaining treatment options for our old doggy and even gave printed material so we could read it over and think on it some more. One of the most in depth and caring conversations we’ve ever had with a vet. I highly recommend this vet!
