Dr. Goss was very professional, kind and compassionate regarding my puppy’s issues.

Our appointment was earlier in the morning, so there weren’t any other patients I could see. I appreciate that he took the time to get to know and observe her, listen to my concerns, as well as offer helpful suggestions.

Kelly, the receptionist, was very kind and professional as well.

I’ve decided he will be our Veterinarian going forward. The previous Veterinarian she saw was rushed and didn’t bother to even say hi to her. Plus the front desk staff are rude and lack professionalism.

I understand every Veterinarian in this town is very busy these days. A little kindness and compassion is appreciated though.

I scheduled my Malinois to get spayed weeks before I even moved to Juneau with TVS without prior evaluation but records were reviewed. I was extremely nervous since my dog is high strung and not easy to handle for most people and much less a new stranger touching her. The staff and Doctor communicated with me numerous times on a game plan for the day of surgery on how we could make the situation positive. Day of surgery we waited no longer than 5 mins to get sedation going before she knew what was about to happen. I waited under 2 hours for surgery and for her to be awake enough to go home. They made it incredibly smooth and I was floored on how well it all went with ZERO stress to the dog. I appreciate the Doctor and staff for listening and following through with requests based on her personality and specific needs.

I love Tongass Vetinary. Every provider is kind, gentle, knowledgeable, and takes the time to talk to you about concerns.
The front staff are kind, friendly and helpful.
Although my puppy wants to hide under the bench she behaves well with medical staff.
I recommend Tongass Vet 100% although they are busy so appointments can be a month or two out from when you call for well animals. The clinic responds right away to Emergencies.

Dr Smith has been my dogs (3) vet for close to 8 years,, myself and dogs live in Haines where we to not have a vet and I really depend on Dr Smith's medical advice. As of right now we have a traveling vet that comes to Haines twice a year, before that we had none. Dr Smith has been very helpful to me in keeping my pets well. I send him an email with whatever medical concerns I have for one of my pets and he always gets back to me the same day or the next, sometimes my concern for my pet is unwarranted by his answer but it sure helps alleviate any concerns I might have. If my pet does need medical attention he lets me know and his helpful staff gets the needed medication to me ASAP. Thank you Dr Smith for being there to help keep my pets well!

No after hours emergency service in the capital city of Alaska.
Have to watch my dog suffer all night convulsing and all tongass can say is go online vet triage.
Called vet in ketchikan, that has after hours emergency number, but no flight to KTN.

Tongass has been amazing to us! After we had a rough experience with another vet in town, they have been a total breath of fresh air. My dog had emergency surgery out of town during the holiday season & Tongass was able to schedule us last minute get a health certificate so that she could fly out. After her surgery & we returned to town, Tongass communicated with our dog’s surgeon & they were able to help with my dog’s after-care. We’re so thankful & know we will be returning to Tongass for future veterinary visits!

Our sweet girl, Miss Maple, got quilled on a weekend hike and Dr. Sam got us in immediately. Mind you, this wasn’t any ordinary quilling so the situation alone was stressful, but Dr.Sam and his staff were so professional and kind and supportive.

I could not have been more pleased with the amount of time they took getting to know our dog and helping her feel comfortable prior to getting her vaccines. I know she'll be glad to visit in the future.
