Please, if you care about your dogs, find another Vet in the area. WE had a very bad experience with them....Negligence, not professional and 'only money industry'
our dog, Maggie, was showing worrying signs so my son to her there, since it was the closest to our home. they did tests and X rays...everything needed, and sent her home with pain medications. few days after, she still didn't seem herself, so he took her again...and they didn't fine anything other then sending an estimate for Biopsy, and the bill....Nothing changed.
So we took her to another Vet. in the area, one that people recommend. he did some tests, and after 4 hours, called to say -
'HUGE TUMOR IN HER LUNGS, NEED TO PUT ASLEEP ASAP'
A day after she couldn't suffer anymore and almost died in my husband's hands, we took her immediately, and put her to rest.

We honestly thinks, that VCA Encina put their business profits on top priority and the health of the dog second....!

Please be aware, read reviews, listen to people before you choose your dog's doctor.

Thank you for listening

THANK YOU VCA ENCINA DOCTORS AND STAFF FOR SAVING OUR BABY!!!!!

Our 2-year-old lab, Roux, got sick the morning I left on a business trip to the East Coast. My husband texted me while I was on the plane to tell me she was not eating, which is NOT normal for her. My husband took her to our regular vet, Bollinger Canyon Animal Hospital, where they got her in right away and did x-rays and blood work. Thankfully, that was normal. They treated her and she went home. She still did not eat and was not feeling well the next day so he took her back to Bollinger Canyon. This time she had a fever and was acting very sick. Dr. Miller called VCA Encina to refer her for an ultrasound. They got her in right away. Dr. Wang called me in Maine to tell me that she had an infection in her abdomen and was septic. This was a Friday night and she needed emergency surgery and I was on the other side of the country. Dr. Koehler, the surgeon, left his family in Sacramento to come and operate on her. The anesthesia staff stayed late. They found an abscess in her liver and had to remove one of her liver lobes and clean her out. Because of their compassionate, caring heroics, she lived to see her third birthday. We cannot thank you enough for the amazing care we received. I will never forget the constant communication with me on the other coast when I was so worried. It was an incredibly stressful experience that you all made tolerable with your consistent care and compassion. We will be forever grateful to all of you!!

Dr. Nurre literally saved my dog's life - not your run of the mill vet clinic. I brought my dog on what could have been his last days with fluid around the heart. The care of the staff and their efforts saved my dog. Very professional and attentive staff, and they took great care of my dog.

This place is amazing. My dog got a foxtail up his nose on a Sunday night so we had to take him in on emergency. The staff were all very kind and patient with me.

My dog has a genetic issue that makes certain sedatives dangerous and the vet was careful to double check any medications used and make sure he was sedated safely for his procedure. He left the clinic happy as ever because the staff gave him lots of love.

I would absolutely bring him back here anytime and would highly recommend them for any emergencies you may have.

Thank you to everyone working last night that helped my dog Jax. ?

Was referred here for specialty dental care and I was pleasantly surprised at the level of care and expertise, particularly by Dr. Lee and Colleen. My cat gets very anxious being at the vet and can be a bit fractious and I was happy to see that Dr. Lee was able to calm her down during the initial exam and able to do a full exam. We ultimately had the dental surgery to remove the problem teeth and my cat was very well taken care of, and I ended up getting some of my initial deposit back because there were less teeth to be extracted than originally thought. Aftercare and communication has been fabulous, and I received all documents I needed to make a pet insurance claim. I can't emphasize enough how easy they made the whole process, especially when it is a very expensive, stressful situation to begin with. Pet care is always expensive but I felt like I got my money's worth and my cat is doing really well after surgery, so I'm really happy with my experience.

I am so happy I came here. Dr. Carl Koehler is an amazing surgeon and did a spectacular job on my dog in removing a tumor. It was not an easy job but Dr. Koehler is incredibly skilled. The surgery was a great success and my dog is now recovering. The staff at this facility are amazing. They are very thorough, knowledgeable and helpful. All of the veterinarians there that I spoke with are very, very knowledgeable. They knew just the right approach to take care of my dog. The administrative staff there, too, is awesome. They were very helpful in processing my payment. I have the very highest recommendation for Dr. Koehler, for all the veterinarians, veterinarian assistants and support staff at VCA Encina Walnut Creek. Excellent place!

Dr Rifat and the Team at VCA Encina Veterinary Medical Center are fantastic! We have 2 goldens and rely on VCA for their ongoing wellness management. One of our dogs, Hank, has been through several serious ordeals: Myasenthea gravis, Immune mediated polyarthritis and a torn cruciate ligament (with TPLO surgery). Dr Rifat thoughtfully guided us through these challenges and provided the the best care leading to the best outcomes. Whether it's something serious or maintenance care, I highly recommend VCA Encina!
