This veterinary was amazing. I found a pup and Smiths took such good care of her. She is very hand shy. They made her feel as comfortable as possible. They were patient kind and understanding of this poor abused pup Suzy. Thank you for bring so good with Suzy.

I recently switched veterinary offices as my current vet was unable to assist me with the necessary travel testing needed to take my dogs to Hawaii. I contacted many offices in the AV and finally found Smith Veterinary. My initial contact was with Eric, who is a saint in my opinion! He researched, priced out and scheduled my pups for their FAVN antibody testing. This isn’t just any testing it’s very particular and has quite a few steps & requirements. To top this off I don’t have just one but four dogs! This in itself was quite an undertaking. Upon my appointment arrival I was greeted by Eric and the other front staff who were all pleasant and helpful. My pups then each had their exams with the doctor to ensure they were good for travel and testing. His personal demeanor was so pleasant, friendly and reassuring that this process was indeed something their office is efficient in doing. I can rest easy knowing their travel certificates will go just as smoothly. My only regret is not finding them sooner than I did. I’m truly so thankful to have found this office!

This has been my vet for 9 yrs and I wouldn't take my baby anywhere else. Everyone from the front office staff, the vet techs and the doctor himself are amazing and treat you and your pet just like your part of their family. My baby has had to come in for emergencies and routine care and from the first call they put you at ease. I recommend them to everyone I know that has any kind of animals. Most of my family take their pets to them as well for many years. I couldn't see going anywhere else.

I recently adopted a puppy from the local animal shelter that was not in the best shape. Luckily, I called Smith’s and got an appointment same day! I was able to get antibiotics for our little guy and be sent on our way home within an hour or less. The Doctor even noticed our puppy needed treatment for mange which the shelter hadn’t noticed or disclosed. The whole intake, exam and exiting process was efficient and a breeze. Our pup is in such great spirits and getting better everyday. Thank you to the friendly Doctor and amazing staff at Smith Veterinary Hospital.

⛔️Its funny that they dont let you reply to others that have bad reviews on here and that they put all of the complaints on the bottom, but "DON'T" bring your pets here without reading all of the complaints⚠️we used to bring one of our dogs to Smith vet back when they were on Ave I for years as they were a great vet,but I recently took another dog of ours there and was completely disappointed and would never bring our dog back or refer anyone to bring their fur family members there,I made an appointment for my dog to be seen as my dog was in distress as he was out of breath and wheezing, when we pulled up a nice young man Santos helped bring him in and was great with my dog, very caring and concerned about the distress my dog was having,he informed me that the Dr was not there and would I be ok seeing the dr that was taking his place which I had no problem with, the Dr came in and she was very concerned about my dog and said that it seemed he was having heart problems and that he would need xrays and blood work which I was fine with that as well as I was very worried for my dog,she was very thorough with him as she spent a good 45 minutes with him checking him from head to paw,I paid the $800 and they did all of the tests and then informed me AFTER that I would have to pay around another $500 to have the xrays read by a 3rd party as the dr wasn't there to read them,I asked when the dr would be back thinking 2-3 days and they told me 2 weeks,I couldn't believe what I was hearing as they never told me this before I paid for everything, had they told me this before I would have taken him somewhere else, they should have had someone there to read the xrays that I paid for! So I took my dog and left as it was clear that they weren't concerned about my dog, then a friend had posted what happened to us on a group site on social media as my dog was still suffering and there were others that weren't happy about Smiths either,a lot of people that saw her post told me to take him to Acton Vet,they said that they care about their patients as they are a mom and pops vet and would see him right away, which they did, when we took him there Dr Loken checked him out and prescribed him some Lasix which has helped him a lot and he is no longer in distress and is resting comfortably at home
