These doctors absolutely saved my cat. Tonks was hospitalized at A Breed Apart after we lost power during a heatwave. She was then diagnosed with advanced kidney disease. They worked with me on creating an affordable treatment plan for her (I remember Dr Alemzadeh being particularly accommodating, which I am still grateful for). I have moved but we have kept her on their recommended treatment plan strictly. At the time of diagnosis, Dr Hajar said he had seen cats live up to five years with Tonk’s stage of kidney disease— and I am happy to report that not only is she still alive— but that was six years ago.

Thank you for saving my cat and giving her a chance at a long full life. You are the best vet team I’ve ever had and if I still lived in Pasadena, I would take all of my animals to you. I feel like A Breed Apart really knows that every life is precious. My cat is old and grey now thanks to you.

I have no issues with the vets here. For the most part, they are knowledgeable and have helped my pets. The techs have been overall good as well. My issue is with the front desk staff. Overall I’ve received attitude and hostility from them for literally no reason. It seems like they don’t like to answer questions with transparency, and have a negative attitude during basic interactions. If it weren’t for my cat who can be problematic sometimes because of her feistiness (though obviously not to the front desk given they don’t have to work with her), I would have stopped going here because of the high prices and comparable care to other veterinarians. It’s a disappointment because I have family working in vet behavior in their West LA branch, so I should be biased in their favor.

I brought my hamster here a few days ago! The receptionists were very kind and the vet who saw my hamster was very knowledgeable! Since then, my hamster is doing well and he's slowly gaining weight as the vet told me he was a little skinny. The office is very clean and they saw my hamster right away with his appointment! I didn't feel pressured to buy anything and the vet didn't recommend any unnecessary treatments for him. I usually go to a different vet for my small animals, but the vet I usually see was booked until two weeks from now and I wanted my hamster to be seen sooner. I am very glad I took him here and I would take him again! Thank you very much for seeing my little guy and taking good care of him! It was his first time at the get too, and I felt like the vet was very understanding and moved slow with my hamster so he didn't get nervous.

DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE !!!!! The Dr did not know what he was doing and told me so himself. There is way cheaper clinics around. Not only did i get ripped off, when i called to rectify the situation i was met with a very rude manager that told me stop yelling (when i wasn't) then hung up on me . I came home home to find a blister on my pets leg, when thats what i went in for (her feet). He told me she was well with her weight. ( i came home to do some research and found that if bone is sticking out or poke to the touch she is not ok) HOW COULD HE TELL ME SHE IS OK WHEN SHE IS NOT ? Very upset and sad about the situation ! do yourself a favor a go somewhere else, thats cheaper and actually qualified.

My tortoise needed to be seen asap and they were able to get him in and do all the diagnostics quickly. Unfortunately we had found that he was in such a horrible state and put him to rest was the kindest thing we could do. It was so difficult to make that decision but the vet really went above and beyond to comfort us and make sure that we knew this was the best choice we could make for our dear friend and family member. When you love your pet and want to fight for them, it’s truly the hardest choice to make. I’m beyond thankful for the staff here and am going to be recommending them to all my friends in the area and switching my dog to this location because they really are the best I’ve been to on this coast. And in regards to cost, the costs were typical for vets in the area. Unfortunately exotic animals are always more expensive to treat due to the specialized treatment. I didn’t receive any surprises and they were very upfront about the pricing so I have nothing bad to say.

I'm not sure why there are these bad reviews here, I have been a customer of this office for several years for a few different pets and have always had the best service and care for them. The staff has always been polite and friendly, even to some of the (rather rude) customers I've seen get upset about the cost of something. News flash people, vet care is expensive. These are trained professionals and deserve to make a decent living, no?
Anyway, I've never felt pressured to buy anything I didn't ask for, up-selling or otherwise. I would recommend their services for dog and cat care based on many visits.

I felt this vet was very expensive, I was able to get 3 quotes on the same tests performed in this facility and found that I paid 50% to 100% more. AND TO THE COMMENT about all vets are expensive News Flash yes they cost money but price gouging is not right either. SOME of us have to balance our pet care with our ability to pay our bills !

My advice, do your research get quotes make sure you are comfortable with what your paying for and make your decision. I spent $800 before I wised up. Lastly check in with the shelters to get advice on best places to go. GOOD LUCK !

Lastly my advise to VCA please don't talk to people like your lining up a car deal its frustrating..
