I cannot express how truly grateful I am for the team of people here. Dr. Weatherall was so informative. I don't own a horse trailer so I had one day to get my horse in and surgery performed and they accommodated my needs and my horse is now home recovering. This place is top notch!

On SAT night, July 31, our cherished Frenchie Concha ("Conchita") went into full blown, sub-2.00 reverse progesterone score L-A-B-O-R.

Doubly problematic 'cause it was 7pm on SAT night and 95% of all Vets are closed!

Enter the awesome doctors + staff at So Cal Equine Center! Within 40 minutes of our initial call, the doctor and two Veterinary Technicians met us at the center.

Shame on me for forgetting the doctor's name (sigh) but she was in her late 20s, early 30s, wore glasses, had curly dark blonde/light brown Tresses and possessed hands on, compassionate bedside manner! Ditto for both Techs.

My beautiful bride and I waited in the immaculate waiting area, exquisitely decorated in a southwestern theme. We quaffed the complimentary coffee and watched the penultimate evening of the Summer Games in Tokyo while praying for a good outcome for our Conchita, challenged w/ her maiden labor.

2.5 hrs later, the doctor emerged with a bright, million-watt smile and the good news- Concha and her four newborns were healthy and ready for discharge!! We were GRANDPARENTS!!

None of this would have been possible without the wonderful, compassionate + SKILLED care provided by the professionals at So Cal Equine Hospital. Major kudos to head Veterinarian PAUL for articulating such a caring climate.

The next time we, the husband + wife proprietors of our boutique Good Shepherd Frenchies, find ourselves shoved up between the rock + a very hard place of a laboring Mama Frenchie who requires emergent Caesarean surgery during after hours, our call will be to SO CAL EQUINE HOSPITAL!!

So should yours...

They took really good care of our colt who we brought in due to colic. We decided to leave him there overnight and he had to get colic surgery as it turned out he had eaten bailing yarn. He is now on the mend thanks to God and this amazing team. They took excellent care of him and his mom while there and kept us up to date on everything. Doctor Weatherall is an wonderful doctor who knows her stuff and had answers to all of my questions and made me feel at ease every time we spoke. They are well staffed and organized and everyone is professional and friendly and they really care about your animals. It was great to have them help us during a time when we were so worried and scared about our colt's health.

DO NOT COME HERE STAFF IS SO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL
please to all my dog parents do not bring your dog here or any pet that you care about these people are nothing but money hungry and do not care at all about your pets !
Took my pet in for some blood work and they told me I would have results no more than 2 hours turns out they had "emergencies" and no one ever got back to me not even simple phone call or text. I asked for a refund and they completely denied me & the manger was simply to stuck up and in her own mind did not care to even listen on why I wanted the refund. The manager and all her staff have the exact same attitude. Unfortunately they think it's okay to treat clients like that. So please DONT WASTE YOUR TIME & go to another vet that actually cares about your pet. This will not be my last post here or any other website (: see you guys soon

I was hesitant to say anything about this, but after reading all of the other reviews, there seems to be a common theme: unfortunately, some members of the office staff are profoundly rude. I have never had such negative interactions with any other veterinary medical staff anywhere else. The first time I called, one of the receptionists thought she put me on hold but apparently didn't press the right button, and I could hear her say to someone else "Ugh I don't want to talk to this lady" - I had never even been there before, we had no previous interactions, and there was absolutely no reason for her to have anything against me at that point. When I said “Hello, I can hear you,” someone else picked up and scheduled my appointment, but no apology from the first person or anything. The second time (don't ask me why I tried to go there again; I guess I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt) I was trying to get documentation ready for some horses to travel - something I've done many times (as recently as 2 months ago) and am quite familiar with the process of doing. Since I didn't know the exact travel dates yet, I wanted to just go ahead and get the coggins going for the one horse that doesn't have one so we wouldn't have to rush it at the last minute, and wait to do the health certificates until we have a departure date. This receptionist told me that you cannot get a coggins without a health certificate, which really surprised me because their own doctor had just done exactly that for me with 2 other horses just 2 months ago. When I was clearly confused by bizarre and apparently new policy, she said "I already explained this to you so, I don't know what else to say or why you don't understand..." At that point I was so dumbfounded I didn't even know how to react, and admittedly almost lost it on her. But I ended up getting off the phone and scheduling with another vet who was more than happy to do a coggins now and health certificate at a later date (and why wouldn't he be, that's two farm calls!) A few hours later someone else from SoCal Equine called me back and gingerly told me yes we can do a coggins without a health certificate at the same time, but with no apology for how the other receptionist spoke to me earlier like I was an idiot (when she was the one who was wrong), and at that point there was absolutely no way I would willingly give them any of my business ever again when I have other options. I hope this place takes a long hard look at their office staff and considers how the attitude (and ignorance) of the person answering the phones could be affecting their business. It is unfortunate because the doctors are wonderful.
