We adopted a beautiful female dog from Aloha Īlio that they took in as a stray. She is so sweet. They trained her while she was there, treated her for heartworms, and when we took her she didn't want to leave. That's how you know it's a place that treats their dogs well!! They have a nice outdoor space for dogs to play, and a part fenced off to meet and greet with a specific dog you're interested in. They'll let you know if a dog likely won't be a good fit for your situation and they let us take Shelby home same-day because she got along so well with our dog and she seemed like a perfect fit. Such a good local organization to have, a blessing to our community!

Please adopt, don’t shop
We recently adopted Hazel from Aloha Ilio Rescue. After filling out an application, I had been specific about wanting a turn-key dog. Hazel is just that. She fit’s right into our family. You can tell she was well taken care of. She smelled clean, teeth were sparkling white, nails clipped. We couldn’t be more pleased.

Aloha Ilio Rescue has to be one of the TOP non-profit rescues on the Big Island of Hawaii. Their dedication and relentless hard work under the islands extremely stressful stray animal environment, shows! They put so much heart and effort into their rescues, events, rehabilitation of animals in need to working with the County of Hawaii's Animal Control division to save dogs and cats to the every day-to-day grind of caring for so many animals. Wish more locals would reach out to this amazing group and sponsor, donate, foster or adopt a loving critter pal.
