My husband and I had a beautiful dog show up at our home last night. This morning I called Animal control I asked if they could tell me if the dog had a chip. I was told yes and not only that but it was free and they came to my house. About 3 hours later we returned the baby back home. I had a wonderful experience with them. No one answers the phone... my neighbor has an aggressive pit bull that is outside all the time. It has charged me several times in my own yard as well as my wife and kids. I have reported this many times via voicemail to animal control to no avail. Neighbors to the right of me moved because of the situation, they called Alton pd several times about it and was told it was an animal control issue. This is rediculous

There are so many stray cats in our neighborhood. I am not exaggerating when I say there are 10-15 cats running around everywhere. They hang out on top of our garage, inside the garage, and anywhere and everywhere else they can get to. Alton Animal Control does nothing about it. Nobody ever answers the phone or returns calls. I am not sure what their actual purpose is as they do not appear to do anything or even care.

Someone on Facebook posted that their dog and some raccoons fell into an abandoned well. I've been invested in this story all morning. Alton Animal Control went and helped this situation and the dog was saved (unsure about the racoons). Great job!
