Animal Care and Wellness Center - Kula, Hawaii

We brought our sweet 10 year old puppy Malia to Kula vet for a second opinion after she couldn't be diagnosed at another vet.
Malia's liver was failing and Kula Vet was able to diagnose her with Leptospirosis. As far as I know, they are the only vet on island that can test for Lepto with immediate results.
We are so grateful for the staff at Kula Vet, they gave Malia a chance, we put her on antibiotics, but unfortunately it was too late. We just wish that we would have gone to Kula Vet earlier.
The staff here truly care. Amazing people, they were the silver lining through some very tough times.

This was our first visit to Animal Care and Wellness Center, other clinics on island have become so expensive and make you feel like just a number.
We visited Animal Care Clinic and loved LOVED Dr. Watson, she was personable, informative and best of all, Miss Marshmallow loved her too.
We will be back for wellness checks, or as needed. 🙂

Dr. Kylie Watson at Animal Care and Wellness Center is my family’s go-to veterinarian on Maui. Not only is she very knowledgeable, she is kind, thoughtful, caring, patient, personable, and a very talented vet all around. A testament to this is one of the times there was something wrong with my dog, Teddy’s, eye. Not only did Dr. Watson squeeze in an appointment to see him, but she and her team went above and beyond in doing a comprehensive wellness check. Dr. Watson took the time to explain everything she was doing in detail, always asked if I had any questions or concerns, and followed up to see how Teddy was doing after. Dr. Watson always is so kind and responsive when I have questions for her that pop up. Most importantly, Teddy is at ease and trusting with Dr. Watson and her vet technicians, which puts me at ease. We are very blessed to have Dr. Watson as our vet.

I took my baby chick to this vet because I saw worms in one of its eyes. The people were kind and said they would be able to take a look at it. (We dropped it off there at 1:30pm)The appointment was kind of mixed up so they told me and my grandma that we would have to leave it with them for a couple of hours because the doctor was busy. They told us that they would give us a call after they finished. So me and my grandmother went home and waited. About 3 hours had pass by and the vet still never called, my grandmother decided to call to see what was going on. The receptionist said that the doctor had not looked at it. Then it was about 5:30pm and we finally got a call( and by the way they close at 5pm) They told us that it did have worms in it’s eyes and that it had passed away! Me and my grandma were very confused because the chick was in very good shape before taking it to this vet. The person who called us did not give us detail about what happen to my chick. I am very furious because I believe they did something to my chick to just pass away. This is a picture of my chick before taking it to the vet, you can see it was perfectly fine. I do not think I will be ever taking any pet here. My chick was 1 week and 5 days old. I’m 14 and I’m deeply saddened about my chick.

The staff were knowledgeable and compassionate. They understood what our pets needed and attended to them with care and concern. They eased our family's anxieties and made our pets healthy and happy again. I'm so grateful for all that they do.

Finally found a vet on island that actually cares about the animals and DOES NOT make the whole experience feel like you’re buying a car from the dealership by trying to add on shots and prescriptions without knowing what they are for! First thing Kim did was get down to my dogs level and comfort her while giving a full inspection finding everything abnormal and having a reason and solution that wasn’t just throwing a prescription but actually giving insight into what caused the condition. Also gave amazing instructions for how to better clean my pups ears to avoid this from happening in the future!! She took samples of an infection and did the lab work while I was still there so I could walk out with the proper antibacterial treatment regiment. My dog got a first time check up visit, blood work, lab test, and 2 different medications to treat her ear infection and skin for less than the annual check up at last vet we went to and we were in and out faster than the time waiting in the exam room for our previous veterinarian, but she still apologized for a wait even tho it was super quick, efficient, more hands on care of my dog and took the time to teach me so much more!

All in all Kim is a First class proper veteran with a top notch team of friendly knowledge animal loving amazing people!!!

Finally we can enter the Animal Care Hospital with our pets..
the staff was great, very responsive and reassuring. My Vet was so in tune with my cat..and wanted to hear all the details of why I brought her in...I feel grateful to have this kind of animal care.
