My experience, as always, at the Animal Clinic & Hospital of NJ, was wonderful. Sophie, my cat is a healthy 3 year old who got her feline distemper shot with no problem. They handled her gently and lovingly. I have had many cats cared for there and they have always been treated well, even when very sick.

Thanks to this amazing clinic, my cat is now healthy and happy!

In early January, I took my cat for a check-up because she had two loose teeth that looked bad. The vet examined her and recommended extractions. Initially, I was concerned about the cost after receiving the quote, so I went home and did some research in the area. After looking around, I realized that the price was standard for dental extractions, cleaning, and all the necessary medications. So, I decided to move forward with the procedure.

The surgery was scheduled for the morning, and I picked her up that afternoon. She was a little out of it from the anesthesia, with her pupils dilated, but otherwise fine. The clinic team was incredible—they called me every day to check on her recovery. By the third day, my sweet girl was back to her usual self!

It’s been three weeks now, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The staff at this clinic are professional, compassionate, and took amazing care of my beloved cat. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch care. Thank you so much!

We walked in on Weekday morning, without an appointment (not recommended), with our very sick cat who wouldn't eat and just vomit. Receptionists at the clinic initially refused citing we needed an appointment, but then took us in. Dr Buchholz and team took very good care of our cat, explained to us all the probable underlying causes for our cat's condition, and gave us some medications to solve the issue at hand. I specifically liked how they didn't try to upsell us on anything like scans, blood work, some fancy medicine/food, (unlike other vet places we have been to) etc.
2 days later, our cat is doing so much better.

Really grateful for the team at this clinic. Nothing but 5 stars!

So many veterinarians take advantage of people’s desperation and charge them an arm and a leg. But God forbid someone can’t afford the bills anymore, this veterinarian will be the first one to help “prosecute them to the full extent of the law.”

And even if that is not the reason someone surrenders their pet, anyone who assumes giving up a pet is an easy choice and deserves to be criminalized is certainly someone I would not want anywhere near my pet. There would have been countless ways to respond to this situation, all of which would have involved not jumping to conclusions and offering support in some way (including potentially taking the animal to the shelter themselves, etc.), a level of unpaid labor that can absolutely be expected from someone who’s had the privilege of completing years of grad school and then charging their patients for the pleasure. This is unbearably cruel and heartless.

We stopped coming here with our dog for medical treatment years ago because it’s not even a pleasant office, but we’ll now also take him somewhere else to get his nails trimmed. (Unsurprisingly, the service is terrible too. Wait times of 30+ minutes past the scheduled appointment time. So many kinds of disrespect in one place.)
