I have been there twice in the last month once with my daughters dog who was terminal and once last night with my own dog who had a ruptured disc. Both times they could not be more kind and understanding that owners are nervous and worried , and the prices are so reasonable.
My dog was at the hospital for several hours, and I watched the staff greet a few other patients as they came in -it was a very busy night. Every patient was treated with the same patience, respect and understanding of the nature of their reason for being there.
They were prompt to tend to everyone that walked through the door.
The doctors are patient and so very compassionate, the staff at the front keeps you updated and are very caring as well. Highly recommend this place.

My dog Spike got attacked by a coyote on 11/26/2024. I rushed him to Animal Emergency and Specialty Center that evening. Within minutes, Spike was on IV fluids and pain meds. His injuries were so severe that I was informed outlook was not great for Spike. Dr. McDowell, Stucky, Larkin and Atkinson worked around the clock to save his life. Their communication was excellent, answered all my questions and concerns. Thanks to this hospital and its staff, my dog Spike is still with me and recovering nicely. Thank you!!

I was just here yesterday and had to put my best friend down. They worked on him fast and Dr. Houston was outstanding. She explained everything very well and showed me the ultrasound to help me see what was going on. She sat with us and heard how great of a dog he was and was so caring and compassionate. This place was amazing and thank you for such a great experience during the hardest decision in my life.

I will never be able to give enough thanks or gratitude to the oncology team here. My dog was diagnosed in August of 2022 with cutaneous lymphoma at only 5 years old. Dr. Stuckey and team have always been kind compassionate and honest throughout our journey. I firmly believe their support and knowledge is what has continued to give me this time with my dog, who’s still here two years later. Thank you for everything your team has done for my boy!

While in vacation in South Lake Tahoe, we needed an emergency vet trip, on New Year day, for our dog who had a piece of wood stuck in his mouth. We made the 1hr trip to Reno to the Animal Emergency Center. On a busy day for the clinic, our dog received rapid and excellent care from the all the staff. We highly recommend this clinic for anybody in the area. Thanks to all the super friendly and efficient staff. Dog is back home and happy.

This a late review of this place. My dog and companion for 15 years Chico was here twice. Unfortunately the second time was the last time. I called in advance letting them know I had an unresponsive dog with me and when I got there they came out to get him within seconds. But there was nothing they could do for him as he was already gone. But they let me say my good byes to him with no rush at all, didn’t even got charge anything for that just for the ash package I chose. I stayed for almost an hour there in private with him and was treated so kindly by the staff. They even sent a condolence card that I still keep with the rest of his stuff, Thank you so much god bless you all.

They’ve always taken such great care of our rescue English Bulldogs. Gwendlyn at the front is so great. She made a stressful situation over thanksgiving weekend a lot easier on our family. Beans thanks you and so do we!

My experience with Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Reno has always been absolutely outstanding. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and kind. Taylor, in particular, has always gone above and beyond to make my senior dog and I feel welcome and supported. The doctors are extremely skilled. Dr. Schroeder, the clinic’s surgeon, needed to perform a somewhat complicated tumor removal on my senior dog. I always felt I was in great hands, especially with her very responsive and skilled support team of Meghan, Cami and Allie. They always got back to be promptly whenever I had a question or concern and really made me feel my dog and I were in good hands during a pretty stressful time for us. I would absolutely recommend others go here and feel lucky that I found them for the care my dog needed.
