I wish I could give 0 stars… I took my dog here almost a year ago in October at about 12 or 1 in the morning…he had been throwing up constantly and peeing himself.. he was a 3 year old pitbull. He was my world. The vets were super sweet and helpful but then it was time for Melly to see the doctor and they took him back to do an “exam” which that alone cost 200$ mind you im in an extremely vulnerable state just trying to save my baby’s life… he came back and said “yeah he’s gonna need surgery” went through all of the paperwork and gave me the cost which was almost 4,000$ I was shy maybe 200$ my dog was dying, I put every single cent in my name on the table counted it in front of him and begged him to please go through with the surgery and when I pick him up in the morning I’ll have the money… since he did tell me wasn’t going to make it that night if he didn’t have the surgery & he was also smirking at the fact that I laid all of my money out and was extremely vulnerable.. then said he can’t do it & he’s sorry but he can give him something for his pain. Which at that point I was open to ANYTHING to keep him out of pain. That was it. My baby died the following day when that veterinarian could have EASILY saved his life. I will never ever forget how inhumane that vet was and I asked him how many years he’d been doing this and he said well over 16 years.. it took me almost a year to write this because I am still extremely heartbroken. If you’re trying to save your baby’s life DO NOT BRING THEM HERE. The vet truly only cares about the money… not about the animal at all.

Our dog was mauled by another dog yesterday so we rushed her to the AER where Dr David McGookey and his staff saw her and triaged her immediately. Dr McGookey explained what was potentially going on with her and what their recommended treatment would be to include an estimated cost which was very reasonable. They treated her and kept her for 6 hours of observation after which we picked her up and she was looking much better after being so severely traumatized. The final bill was spot on what they initially estimated it to be. It was worth the extra drive time to take her to the AER. Now we will follow up with our regular vet. These folks were great. Highly recommend them.

Our 8 year old Scottie Logan Brody got extremely sick on 11/1/24. On Saturday morning11/2 we took Logan to AER after a phone call. The young lady I spoke to on the phone was very sweet and professional. When we arrived there it didn't take very long for them to admit Logan. Unfortunately our fur baby had advance bladder cancer. The vet Kim Buck was very professional and kind. Explained our options. Of course the best thing was to let Logan cross the rainbow bridge ?. There was NO RUSH on our decision or no pressure. They gave us as much time was needed to say out last "See you later!"
Thank you Animal Emergency Room. We appreciate all that you did for us!!

Very compassionate veterinary clinic. We would definitely recommend them. They were very professional and attentive to our pets unfortunate outcome. We appreciate their support and compassion during a very difficult and abrupt loss. Thanks for all that y'all do!
RIP Tone ?️?
If I could share... The universe works in mysterious ways. We (as a new couple) found Tone walking as a small puppy down Fredericksburg Rd at the bus stop near this exact clinic 8.5 yrs ago. We cared for him and took him in, after no owners were ever found. Endless adventures later. It was literally full circle for our beloved dog. ? Where we found him, we lost him. In the (almost) exact same spot he was rescued. If that's not a sign idk what is. This whole experience was so awakening. What's meant to be will truly be. Thanks for reading ?

If I could give ZERO stars I would! This was my first time ever having to bring a pet to an emergency room. This was the worst experience of my life. This emergency room had no sense of urgency. The doctor on call Dr. David Magookey had horrible bedside manner. Explaining things is his terms as if I understood any of what he was saying to me. No remorse whatsoever! My dog came in and needed emergency assistance my son and I sat there for about 30 minutes going back-and-forth with them talking all about money. I had whatever money they needed to fix my dog. I just needed “emergency professional veterinary services” to save my dog! In the end, even though they, as professionals, knew that I should put my dog to sleep, they kept pushing hospitalization for $1200 for 5 hours only and said I’d have to still take her back to regular vet. I was frantic and under a lot of distress so I paid $500 for them to still pick and poke at my dog, knowing that wasn’t going to help her, then as soon as they were done, my dog was even more lifeless, i felt horrible to see my baby girl like that, so my son and i decided to euthanize her. At that point is when the doctor said, that’s the best you can do for her! After I had just paid him $500 to do what he knew wouldn’t help her at all! I asked how my h would that cost and he had the nerve to look at me and God as my witness said “ IDK how much money do you have left? I’ll take whatever, $50, I’ll take $20!” That was the worst experience of my life. I’ve never had to put a dog down in my life and none of the staff that was there last night cared or showed any remorse or sense of urgency, for my dog. If only they would have worked as fast as they did to take my credit card to save my dog. She probably would be here today! I even got into it with the doctor because we were sitting in the room so long from after arriving, that I open the door and I see them all just sitting on their computers! when I say don’t bring your dog here if it needs emergency care, don’t do it! If I would’ve taken my dog elsewhere to another true emergency animal room , she would’ve had a chance. I firmly believe this. I thought Veterinarians got into this profession to care for animals, all they care about was getting paid. They didn’t allow me to stay while they euthanized her. I pray they did it quickly and didn’t allow her to lay on that table in pain! I paid to have my baby girl cremated. I pray she is iba better place! To say we are heartbroken is an understatement, we are devastated at the loss of my girl! RIP Wynter My Wynee Girl 3/4/23-10/31/23

Animal Emergency Room saved me $600.The BEST vet experience I have ever had. Thank you Roman, Dr. David McGookey, and the entire staff! Here's why they are the best (worth the read, the best part is the last paragraph!)
At 4:40 my two-day-old puppy was squished.

By 4:47 I was I went to a DIFFERENT emergency vet, 5 minutes from where I live (I will not name them) where they refused to help, without a payment of $900, after stating I only have $600 and don't get paid till the morning. When releasing my pup to me, they stated he NEEDED oxygen or he was going to die in 15 minutes, but still refused service without the full $900. I chose to take my pup somewhere else.

At 5:30 we sat in the parking lot of that location believing we were going to hold our pup till he died.

After calling every vet emergency office I could they all required an amount of money I couldn't put down until tomorrow. Then I called Animal Emergency Room

Roman, from Animal Emergency Room, you are an angel sent by heaven. I have never met anyone more under control and compassionate in a terrifying situation. I have also never seen anyone legitimately RUNNING around the office. He was on top of everything from the moment I called, to the moment I left. Roman made me and my pup feel heard and seen. EVERY vet office needs a Roman!
The entire staff showed kindness that I had not seen all day.
My total was around $300, and the vet did not see the need to do ANY of the things the previous office told me I would need, and sent me home with everything I need to nurture my pup back to health.

I will forever be grateful for the kindness and professionalism seen at Animal Emergency Room and 100% believe in my heart this office deserves to be recognized!

I never write reviews but I felt in my heart I needed to, I brought my baby Sharon in to this emergency after she had been attacked by two loose dogs and one of them got her good on the back of her neck, she was becoming lethargic and I have never been so scared. The staff here from the moment we got there were so nice and welcoming and very supportive, they took my Sharon in like as if she was their own. The doctor came out, it was a male doctor, Dr. M and he explained everything to me that needed to happen, and was very nice. They all took care of her over the course of two weeks cause she had to get staples, and tube to drain the abscess out and then finally to get the staples removed, and every time I took her back to get her checked, they were all so caring and helped my baby every step of the way. And now she is doing great and I can’t thank the doctor and staff there enough. Y’all are angels. Me and Sharon thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤️ these pics might be hard to see but her attack was bad but they took care of her every step all the way to her healing up! Thank you again

If I could give 0 stars I would, I took my puppy here and spent 256$ just for them to diagnose him and then wanted to charge me 500$ more to send me home with medicine. The vet was very incompassionate and rude. I will never be taking my baby here again. Seems all they want is the money and not actually help the animal.
