After taking my dog (Turkey) to the Animal Emergency & Specialty Center in Parker, CO, after hours on a Friday night for a little pet emergency, I will say we were more than impressed with the entire process and staff. The wait time, the genuine treatment and care for our dog, the knowledge we gained and the low costs - we will never even consider another urgent care/after hours facility for our dog! From our first call to ask some questions, to leaving the center on a Friday night - we were blown away with the level of service and care. They treated us as professionally and as kind as could be, entire staff was more than friendly and very knowledgeable, the doctors and technicians sincerely cared for us and our dog, and the cost of care was positively surprising to say the least. This place rocks. I HIGHLY recommend the Animal Emergency & Specialty Center for all of your pet's urgent care and after hours treatment. Love this place. Customer for life.

So grateful for the staff at the Animal Emergency & Specialty center. Unfortunately, the first two times we visited we did not go home with our dogs but the staff are all so caring and have had such attention to detail during those hard times. It was more than to be expected for someone who wasn’t our regular vet. This last visit was a much better visit. We came home with our dog along with a good prognosis and no issues at all. The staff was so kind and so thoughtful and so quick to treat what was going on it just reassured me that my dog, which is my family, is in great hands when he’s there.

I have a miniature dachshund who recently began showing signs of a herniated disc. Within the same day, she went from walking normally to losing the ability to use her back legs, with her paws turned over.

When we arrived at AESC, the front desk promptly took our information, and the team immediately recognized the urgency of the situation. In just 15 minutes, we were in a room with Brooke and Dr. Song, both of whom were fantastic.

Dr. Song, the neurologist, is exactly who you want when your dog is suffering from a back injury. She took the time to thoroughly explain our options, and we made the decision to proceed with an MRI and surgery. Throughout my dog’s hospitalization, Dr. Song called me daily with updates, demonstrating not only her expertise but also genuine compassion for both my dog and our family.

Additionally, my dog has IBD and follows a very strict diet. At a previous clinic (Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital), she became ill because they didn’t accommodate her dietary needs during hospitalization, despite our clear communication. At AESC, however, the team set a new standard. Brooke and the neurology team understood the importance of her special diet and made the necessary accommodations, ensuring that all staff members were aware to prevent any issues.

The day after my dog’s discharge, AESC even called to check on her. It’s evident that their team listens to pet owners, takes swift action, and is staffed with compassionate, knowledgeable professionals.

I am writing to express my profound disappointment and outrage regarding the treatment my pet received by Dr. Song and her team at AESC in Parker, Colorado. We brought our dog in solely for an MRI, to which we explicitly consented. Upon returning home, we discovered that our dog’s paws were bleeding. After examining her closely, it became clear that all of her nails had been severely over-trimmed, without our consent.

I immediately contacted the clinic and was informed by the vet that nail trimming is often done while pets are under anesthesia and that consent is not typically sought for this procedure. This is unacceptable. Consent for any medical procedure, no matter how minor, is a basic standard of care, and the failure to seek it shows a blatant disregard for both ethical practices and the trust that pet owners place in your facility.

The trimming was not only unauthorized but poorly executed. Our dog’s nails were cut so short that it appears as if someone was practicing on her, causing bleeding on every single paw. To make matters worse, when we discussed the MRI results at the clinic, the staff made no mention of the nail trimming, likely because of the atrocious and harmful job that was done. Dr. Song and her team has failed our pet immensely and it breaks my heart that other people have experienced inadequate care as well with Dr. Song and her team. There's a ton of reviews that show how upset people are after coming to this clinic and there's a reason why.

This level of incompetence is completely unacceptable, and it is clear that this clinic cannot be trusted with the care of animals. As a result, we will be filing formal complaints with the state veterinary board and are in the process of seeking legal counsel. It is appalling that any clinic would assume consent for a procedure, particularly one that was performed so poorly and without transparency.

I urge anyone considering bringing their pet here to think twice. This clinic has demonstrated a complete lack of respect for both pet owners and the animals in their care.

UPDATE: The clinic offered us a 10% discount, but we are not accepting it because they have failed to take accountability or responsibility for what happened. Rather than genuinely addressing the issue, they simply tried to offer money as a way to silence us and asked to take down our review in exchange.

What’s most upsetting is that they did not make any effort to “make things right.” They haven't considered retraining staff, implementing policies to ensure consent is obtained before performing any procedures, or taking steps to prevent this from happening to other pets and families. It feels like they’re trying to sweep this entire incident under the rug rather than addressing the root cause and ensuring it doesn’t happen again.

We are deeply disappointed that they chose this path instead of owning up to their mistakes and taking meaningful action. Trust in veterinary care is vital, and this clinic has shown that they are unwilling to earn it back.

We took our dog, Remi, to AESC, and I can’t speak highly enough about the care they provided. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and professional. The veterinarians were incredibly knowledgeable, explaining everything clearly and giving us options for treatment that made sense for Remi’s health. We felt confident that our dog was in the best hands possible. Remi is now back to her happy, healthy self, and we couldn’t be more grateful!

This is a wonderful vet hospital. I’ve been here twice in the past year. First with my mom and her dachshund, Duke, when he needed emergency disc surgery. His back legs completely quit working all of a sudden and they were the only clinic where we could immediately get a MRI so we drove from Colo Spgs. They saw him immediately and within hours he was in surgery. Dr Song was excellent and explained everything.
Then, this past weekend we brought our Lab mix in. She has Addison’s disease and had been throwing up/diarrhea and was lethargic. The front desk is helpful and the vet care is excellent. They have definitely earned my trust and I am extremely confident in the care they provide.

Bax was bit by something in a hike, face swelled up within 30 minutes and he became weak. He’s a type of dog that will not let you touch him, typically has to be knocked out to have something done to him. She did not think it was a rattlesnake bite, so we were sent home and told to get Benadryl, and if the swelling went down, then he would be OK. Swelling went down, and in the morning, he was still almost lifeless. And was worse the next day. I was about to take him in, but then he got up and ran across the floor!

I can’t even begin to start to describe the gratitude I have for this place and all the staff members here. I took my boy in on his final days, and every single staff member that met him took such good care of him, spent time with him, told me what a sweet boy he was, and that even during his final moments, he was calm and wagging his tail for them, which means they made him comfortable in a very uncomfortable time. They did everything they could for him, and although he didn’t make it, the compassion and care that they showed me and my dog has made this process a lot less hard. I got his Urn, ashes and his paw print, and ink prints back and they are absolutely beautiful and more than I could’ve ever imagined.

Thank you so much to all the staff here for being so kind, compassionate and actually caring about my boy and keeping him happy and comfortable in his final hours. I will forever be a customer for this even though your an hour away from me because I can’t thank you enough!!!
