So grateful to Dr Cary Buckman and his staff. He was very thorough in his examination of my dog and carefully explained my dog's issues and options. On-site blood tests and X-rays gave us a complete diagnosis. I know it's hard to get emergency care in Havasu, but I'm so thankful Dr Buckman was available when we needed him!

Dr. Buckman and his team provided excellent service when we brought our puppy in for a limp. His exam was thorough and thoughtful. I appreciate that he took time to calm my fears and explain everything. The techs and front desk staff were equally kind and helpful from beginning to end. The price for the services was more than reasonable. I am grateful to have this level of care and professionalism in Havasu.

Our dog was having some issues with appetite, but was likely within a couple weeks of passing at nearly 20 years old. We had accepted that the end was on its way, but we and our pup were not ready yet.

We looked to these people to get assistance, so that we would have some time to properly say goodbye to her, and make her feel loved for the last few days we had.

She was walking around fine, rolling happily around on the carpet the day we took her in, she just wasn’t eating.

They shot up our baby with steroids and an anti-nausea medication (even though she wasn’t throwing up), and sent us home with more steroids and an appetite stimulant.

They sent us home with hope, probably the cruelest gift possible.

The next morning, our dog was drooling uncontrollably, wasn’t able to stand for more than 30 seconds and seemed confused.

We called and they didn’t offer anything but an appointment later that day to come in and have her put down.

They also mentioned that there apparently could be some drug interaction with a pain injection they had given her…3 weeks prior.

No extra offer to help, no further checkups available. It was a Friday morning.

They told us they were not going to be open for emergency services that weekend.

We decided that our girl should have a chance to shake off any possible side effects from the shots (which included drooling and lethargy), and still have some quality of life for a few more days, but that’s not what happened.

Instead, she died later that night on our living room floor, gasping for every last breath, after hours of struggling.

I’m speaking directly to the staff now: We trusted you.

You took the last moments of our life with our dog, and turned them into one of the most awful experiences we could have gone through. Our girl deserved better than dying on the floor, while we wept uncontrollably, and getting carted away by a pet cremation service at 11pm in the trunk of a car.

20 beautiful years with our dog, and you let us down when it meant the most, at the end.

You helped us keep her well when she was younger, but that won’t cancel out how she passed.

We are not okay.

Honest and helpful staff and doctor. My 13yr old Lab has started having signs of old age and Dr. Buckman was professional and methodical when checking on my dog. He didn't jump to conclusions, just eliminated possibilities.
