You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression, and Animal Urgent Care in K-Town on Olympic Blvd failed from the start. Thankfully, it could only go up from there.

My cat needed urgent care, so I made an online appointment for noon. I arrived at 11:58 AM, only to find the front door locked. In the 90-degree LA heat, with my cat in his carrier, a receptionist came outside and told me to wait in my car. It wasn’t a great start.

Thankfully, just a few moments later, a nurse came to my car with a smile and invited me into the lobby. She was pleasant, thorough in her questions, and took my cat inside right away, which gave me some relief. The lobby was clean, modern, and decorated with vibrant pops of orange that made the space feel inviting.

After signing consent forms, I was given the option to either wait or come back, but I wasn’t told how long it would take to hear back about my cat. I decided to wait. After paying $120 upfront for the initial exam, I was led to a private waiting area.

It’s now been 45 minutes, and I still have no idea what’s going on with my cat. There’s been no update or indication of what might be wrong, and the waiting is starting to feel unbearable. While the staff was pleasant, the lack of communication is frustrating. I'm just hoping the care is worth the wait.

I’m a physician… we’re very critical of healthcare practitioners. I had an incredible experience with the veterinarian here. He truly has his heart in the right place and showcased an exceptionally high level of clinical aptitude. I feel very fortunate to have this clinic nearby. Please don’t listen to many of these reviews that come from miserable people who are likely as unkind to their animals as they are to the staff that work here. You’re in great hands. Remember what the front staff have to deal with each day and you’ll understand why they may not be as warm and cuddly as you’re anticipating. Be nicer to each other, be nicer to everyone at these animal care centers.

I came to this location looking for an emergency clinic for my kitten. Not only were they able to take him in within an hour, the staff were so kind and communicated with me throughout the whole process. I ended up having to take my cat in for a second visit (complications with his healing process) and had the same positive experience. Thankfully, a week later, he is now completely healed.

I personally think the prices were reasonable considering it's a walk in clinic, not to mention, they send you an itemized invoice accompanied by a call from the vet before they charge you for treatment. You can ask to take off anything you feel is not needed before paying, no pressure given by staff.

I know everyone comes to vet clinics with their own personal situations and expectations, but I really enjoyed coming here and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Our dog was uncontrollably vomiting and had diarrhea. Animal urgent care made sure she got all the needed tests done while making our dog comfortable during her stay. They even did a quick ultrasound at no additional cost. The staff is friendly, and seems to genuinely care about all animals coming in and out of the facility.

I am very grateful for the professional care my dog received from Dr. Goodman and Andrea. From the moment we walked through the door, Andrea at the front desk made us feel welcomed and reassured. She was incredibly kind and professional, and she genuinely cared about making sure my dog Hazelnut got the care she needed.

I really appreciated Dr. Goodman’s bedside manner and expertise. She took the time to thoroughly discuss diagnostics and treatment, and she was patient with my questions. My dog left the clinic feeling much better with the treatment she received.

I absolutely recommend Animal Urgent Care K-Town to any pet owner looking for exceptional veterinary care. The entire team is amazing!

They took very good care of us when we had to bring in our dear Papi le Papillon for a sudden illness. She was 16 but was my best friend and constant companion. The staff and vet on duty were very caring and treated us with great dignity as they gently explained our difficult options. We had to let her go that night and she peacefully passed away in my arms. Just wanted to say I appreciate the vet and their staff kind and conscientious service. Weeks later I received a nice note of condolences signed by the staff. It not easy to write a review for such a traumatic experience but I wanted to express our appreciation for their condolences and care.

Rainbow Bridge

"When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Animal urgent care took in my dog after she got stung by a bee. The tech who explained the estimate, and Dr. Linney were great! They explained in thorough detail what went on with my pet and what each treatment /medication was for. The pricing was reasonable as well. I had a great experience, however the receptionist could improve in customer service. When I asked her a question regarding medication, she replied with a condescending tone. Overall, great experience.

This was my first experience in having to go to an urgent care for my kitty. We arrived on a Monday around 4pm, and my kitty was seen right away. Dr Williams was who provided care; she was thorough, patient, kind, and knowledgeable. The assisting team was also incredible; specifically Helen. She too was very sweet, loved on our little baby, was very helpful, and very knowledgeable as well (she also has kitties, which I loved hearing as she was one of our main providers). I would absolutely come back here (though, I hope I wont need to). Excellent care, an incredibly kind and knowledgeable team, and the facility was also very nice and clean.
