I am beyond grateful for the healing my fur friend, Lotus, has received from Dr Heather Perkins at Animas Animals.
I rescued Lotus back in November of 2023, a 2 year old border collie type. Lotus was emaciated, 23 lbs, had skin flakes and chunky scabs over his entire body with fur missing on his face, growths on his ears, his fur was falling out in chunks, and his mobility was very poor. Overall, Lotus was in very poor condition, but his spirit was gentle and sweet, and I fell in love. I knew the road to recovery would not be easy, but Lotus deserved a chance.
I did not want to go the conventional treatment route, as the options only seemed to be a potential help to the visible symptoms. Instead, I wanted to find someone who would take the time to dive deeper to the root of his issues. I came across Heather at Animas Animals, offering herbal medicines, acupuncture and advice on more natural alternatives. After our first appointment together, I knew it was a perfect fit. Heather is very kind, gentle, and knowledgeable. I am so thrilled for her to be a major part in Lotus's healing journey.
It's been a few months so far with Heather, and Lotus has bloomed ? He has received acupuncture, herbal medicines, gut health treatment, and a whole lot of love ❤️ Heather also helped me with decitions regarding his diet and supplements to give him. His skin and coat are beautiful, he runs and jumps and plays, and overall, Lotus is now a very happy boy ?

Doctor Heather is the most amazing vet; kind, caring, compassionate and very knowledgeable. My 9 yr old Longhair Weimaraner "Dusty" had been seen by 3 other vets for episodes of Pancreatitis and Gastroenteritis. None of the other vets really gave me any advice on caring for him after discharge from the hospital. All they said was that he would keep having these episodes. One visit with Doctor Heather made all the difference in the world in caring for Dusty. She told me to start cooking his meals with real food, no more commercial dog food. She also did acupuncture and checked him out thoroughly. Doctor Heather suggested a Biome test to check Dusty's gut health and a problem was detected. She prescribed the pills he needed to help restore his gut to normal. Ever since our visit to see Doctor Heather, Dusty has been happier and healthier and more playful than he has been in years. It's amazing what a wonderful vet like Doctor Heather was able to do for Dusty when no other vet even took the time to do anything beyond treat him when ill. I am thankful for Doctor Heather and her amazing ability to know what to do to help Dusty have a happy, healthy life.

Our 9 year old golden retriever was diagnosed with cancer about 6 months ago. We really wanted to look for alternative options besides chemo. Our main priority was quality of life for our girl in her senior years. Dr Heather Perkins has given us back Sandy's energy and overall happiness through acupuncture and herbs. Dr. Heather has treated three of my golden retrievers over the years. She is compassionate, smart and very caring. All my dogs love her! I had a golden retriever with cancer a few years ago and I know she was able to extend his life for almost 2 years by the treatments that she gave him and that meant so much to us to have him around that much longer! She explores the root cause of conditions not just treating the symptoms which is important we appreciate her so much I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her for any of her treatments. Thank you Heather for keeping my dogs happy and healthy!

Dr Heather is the best! I breed and show my dogs. They are a rare breed and I work hard to keep my older boy in great shape. I could not do it without Dr Heather. Recently he was very sore and he needed to breed a girl who was here from Phoenix. Dr Heather made time for us to come and after her acupuncture and laser he was once again acting like a youngster. 9 puppies born! Also when we had a 7 year old boy that had cancer, she kept him comfortable and was a huge help. Animas Animal is the best!! UPDATE!! My 3 year old girl has snored like a freight train since she was a baby. Her allergies have been awful. We've tried all sorts of western medicine but two days after taking some herbs prescribed by Dr. Heather, she no longer snores and is much happier. Another success story.

You will not find a more caring and knowledgeable vet in this town than Dr. Heather. She treated my dog for a shoulder issue that was causing lameness and severe muscle loss. Every suggestion that was made brought my dog closer to normal. I cannot thank you enough, Dr. Heather!! It’s so wonderful to see Zoe running around and playing again ?
