THEY KILLED MY DAUGHTERS HORSE!! DO NOT USE THIS HOSPITAL!! Came for a shoulder wound on my daughters 15k quarter horse, gave us smz’s and no TAT (Tetnus) shot. Horse was dead within 7 days then they proceeded to say it was because we have a cow around and not I’m so sorry. No accountability with this place, multiple calls and emails and last day of horses life they said he should have been getting stronger antibiotics from the beginning then they still don’t come out when the horse has a 106.5 degree temperature

There's just no way to describe our experience with Dr. Edgardo other than he guided us through a terrible moment with the utmost of kindness, empathy, compassion and professionalism. We left Sedona, AZ to go to Monterey, CA, just planning to board one night at a horse hotel near Bakersfield. We unloaded our horses that evening and we could tell one was in distress with breathing. We tended to him for a bit thinking it might be choke. It became clear it probably wasn't. We were able to get in touch with the hospital phone abut 10:30 PM. Dr. Edgardo came out very quickly and did some initial treatment on site. He recommended we reload the horses and follow him to the hospital. In short order at the hospital, he determined our horse was having a cardiac event where one of his heart valves just gave out. As that settled over us, he so kindly guided us through the painful process to follow that was made so much better by his simply beyond exceptional bedside manner. We remember this night quite sadly, as we said goodbye to my wife's heart horse, a 23 1/2 YO, otherwise exceptionally healthy Arabian. But we also remember this night for the extraordinary service of a savior of a doc who came to us in the middle of the night at just the right time and place. Our encounter with Dr. Edgardo Ordonez was simply remarkable. A fine Doc. A very fine and compassionate man. Our highest accolades to him and our fondest memories of human compassion in a dark hour indeed.

I've had to use this equine hospital 3 times for 3 different horses who had sand colic. The care and immediate response I've received all 3 times have been impressive. Within 5 minutes of my arrival with my emergency's, my horses were examined and within 10 minutes of my arrival aggressive colic treatment was started. They do thorough examinations, and never took my emergencies lightly. I lost my first horse but not because of them. He was under another vet at the time and wasn't getting better after a barn treatment. The vet treating him couldn't get back out because of his other emergency calls. My horse was very sick when he landed on their door step. We had to travel either 2 hours to Chino or 1.5 to these guys. His heart rate was 104. They told me my prognosis wasn't good and called me with so much compassion when all of their efforts to save my boy didn't work. The immediate response I got with him made me go back with my second colic of the year last month. I never had any hesitation be cause of the care and swiftness in their actions for my first horse even with the death of him. My second horse Storm didn't get a barn call for colic because I will never go through that heartache again if I can help it. The immediate attention to him was the same. Within 5 mins he was being treated. So this week when the temp hit 115 where we live and my 3rd Drum horse Duke decided he wanted to follow in his brother Storm's footsteps and colic, we rushed him up to these guys. We saw Dr Jones. He's the new vet that Dr. Tolley, and Dr. Gonzales work with. Not only was he just as expedient and efficient as Dr Gonzales was with my other 2 Drums Leonidas (RIP) and Storm, but just as thorough and compassionate. I would recommend these guys over and over again to people who have a need from vets who love their jobs and the animals they care for. We are very grateful for having found them.
Thank you,
Robert and Tammie Bennett

Words can’t express how thankful myself and my family feel about the wonderful care our equine family members receive from Dr. Tolley and Dr. Gonzalez. It’s such a helpless feeling when you have an emergency and need a vet asap. They both have come out to us very quickly on different occasions and are professional and personable. The office visits have been easily done as well. They educate you on the issue at hand and offer options to solve said issue. The office staff is great too, easy to book appts and get info. from be it in person or by phone.

I called in last Thursday night with an equine emergency (colic) and my horse was traveling and stabled at a ranch without cell service. I called from my hotel to get more advice on what to do as local vets weren't calling me back. I left my horse with Banamine and seemingly not in critical condition but knew she had an impaction brewing. The vet that was 'on call' that night (an older gentleman) was so put out by me waking him up after 10pm he was short, curt and confused why I had let several hours go by and not called him when I was with the horse. I didn't have cell service and needed to talk through what to do before driving back out to the ranch. Anyway, I have never before been treated so rudely by a vet who said, and I quote, "Frankly I don't want to be out with a horse at 2am" right before I hung up on him. DON'T BE A VET IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ANIMALS AND PEOPLE! Shame on you! Beware about using their emergency large animal services. Maybe someone should retire if they truly don't want to do their jobs.....
